Downgrade gone wrong...

Well, it looks like I have the dubious honor of being the first person who has truly messed up a downgrade from 1.7 to 1.6.  :?  Everything looked like it went well, until the end.  The screen now has this this "wonderful" red, purple, and blue random design on the touchscreen, and a purple and grey/blue  screen on the top when a micro sd card is inserted.

I freshly formated the card AND used a new card...no dice.  The DS works fine, and the SC still recognises "upgrade.scu"...so I am thinking if there was an "upgrade.scu" to take you to 1.7, that would solve my problem!

Anyone know if there is one...or how to make the bin into an scu (just renaming dosen't work).

Thanks, and it does suck being the first to truly jack up an almost foolproof upgrade...downgrade...ah, whatever...

Thanks everyone.

If you messed up the SC firmware then you can try to restore the firmware using DarkFader's FlashMP.  To run FlashMP you will need another Supercard to hot swap with, or you will need to have WiFiMe/WMB working.

Otherwise you can try my free Supercard firmware recovery service . . .

What do you mean "boot with gba mode"?  Please explain...
Nevermind...I'm an idiot...but gba mode did nothing but give me pretty colors only in the top screen instead of top and bottom.  If there is no flash, I think I'll take bitblt up on his offer...if anyone has any ideas (or a 1.7 scu file) I would prefer not to send my little friend away

Thanks for the offer of service bitblt...you have pm

what you do is remove the nopass, boot up ur ds and run the firmware 1.7 upgrade.

Same thing happenned to me so I had to boot it on gba mode an run the .bin file... but i had to figure it out by myself.

I'd want to know where I can get the .bin for firmware 1.6(3).

2ndsheepdog

so would I.  Tell you what...if I find it, I'll post a link here for you.
