Hey guys, I was wondering... Is it possible to flash an already flashed DS (with the custom firmware) with the original firmware (the firmware that comes with a fresh new DS) ?

If so, how? Do I need to open my battery cover and stick metal into it again? Where do I get the file? Thanks!

Hi

noflashme.

to get it, go to phwiki. they have a download mirror.

work on the DSphat only.

use with caution!
no file-safe feature!
IF YOU TURN OFF YOUR DS WHILE FLASHING, YOU'VE REDUCED YOUR DS TO A BRICK!!!!!!!!
NOT RECCOMENDED BY THE FLASHME TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

notice I put 13 exclemation points after "not reccomended by the flashme team."

He brings up an interesting point - there's a good chance you'll brick your DS.  So why not brick it on purpose and take it back to where you bought it, thereby getting a brand-new system, possibly in black if you're lucky?

Hi

Because, Altor, that would be dishonest.

And, ZAFDeltaForce, I overexaggerated a little while ago. It's still pretty safe as long as you use it with caution, know what you're doing, and don't do anything stupid. Just don't use it unless you have a fairly important reason.

Thanks for the help guys! Don't worry, I'm aware of the risks. I've flashed 3 DS' already :D

Oh, do I have to stick a toothpick covered with tin foil into the SL1 Contact again? That would be troublesome... And whats fail-safe??

Once again, thanks for the info!

For NoFlashMe? I don't believe so.

So I just run the file from my flashcart on my DS and wait for it to hit 100%? Then where are the risks in that (besides power)?

And whats fail-safe? Can anyone tell me? Thanks!

Gleasonator

I dunno what "fail-safe" is, but I think you're right. I've never used NoFlashMe, but I read somewhere that you don't need to short it again. The only real risk I can think of is that it will mess up your firmware if you're using a NDSL.

Give it a shot. It'll tell you anyways if you need to short it.

Failsafe lets you recover if you stuff up. It is included in FlashMe but not in NoFlashMe.

fyi, when i ran noflashme on my dslite, pictochat was broken.  dslite is supposedly not fully supported by flashme.

Hi

When you run noflashme, I'm sure you have to short slot-1.

just curious, why would you want to un-install flasme?
