I just got a supercard cf and superpass with 1gig cf card.  When I boot with superpass I only get 2 white screens.  The cf card works because the gba games boot fine.  I'm booting with a Madden 05 cart.  If I take the madden cart out of the supperpass I don't get the white screens it just says no ds cart found.  I think my superpass is broken.  Can someone tell me if you boot your superpass without the gba cf cart do you get anything other than 2 white screens?  This will tell me if my superpass is broken or if I flashed something wrong.  Thanks

maybe I didn't understand you properly... when you boot into DS mode with the superpass, your supercard is also in your GBA slot, right? just want to clarify the situation, so i can figure out what the problem is

[edit] also, try booting with another cart if you have it (like the metroid demo)...  you can still switch carts before you load the DS game, in order to have the correct save size in the slot (i assume you need 2mbit for the game you are wanting to play, hence the usage of madden) [/edit]

Yes I have the cf card in the gba slot and get 2 white screens.  I was wondering that if you take the cf card out of the gba slot and power on the ds with the superpass and ds game if you get anything on your screens this would tell me if my cf card is flashed wrong or my superpass is broken.

I don't have the superpass, but i have natrium's passme... (essentially the same thing).  i can boot into DS mode with madden 05 (just tested it)...

can you get into the supercard DS menu at all?  or is it only when you boot a game that you get 2 white screens?

also, are you using the latest firmware for the CF version of supercard?  that is essential for DS mode...

if you take the CF card out, and leave the Supercard in, with superpass in the DS slot with a DS cart in it... you WILL only get 2 white screens..

make sure your kernel version is 1.50...  boot with superpass.. you should get to the menu (on upper screen) and the supercard logo on the lower screen...

Thanks, that means i must be flashing wrong.  What are the steps to flashing a ds game to try again?  I have used gba flash carts before but not supercard.  Thanks

sneef

i'm not sure what you mean about the "steps to flashing a DS game"... but here is what you must do:

use supercard software version 2.41 to patch a "Clean Dump" DS rom for supercard (output= .nds.dsi)

transfer to your CF card.

boot your DS with superpass+DS cart in DS slot,
Supercard(kernel 1.50)+CF in GBA slot

this should get you to the menu, from which you can choose your game.

[edit] make sure your CF is formatted as FAT, not FAT32.  I'm sure that is not the problem, since you said your GBA games work fine.  just thought i'd mention that

I did that and when I try to boot with superpass with madden o5 in ds slot I get 2 white screens.  I also loaded a gba game on the cf card, if I take out the super pass I get to the menu and the gba game plays fine.

It is FAT formatted, when I delete the files do I need to reformat everytime if I want to try again?

sneef

are you certain that the supercard's firmware is version 1.50?

No, you do not need to reformat.. you can write and delete and rewrite however many times you want, like a normal CF card.  unless it gets corrupted or something, of course.

To update the firmware do I need to flash the .bin file by itself to the cf card and boot? (I originally flashed it with the games) If so, with or without the passme?  Forgive me if I sound stupid, but i'd rather sound stupid and get this thing working then act like I know what I'm soing?

sneef

yes.. just put the .bin file in your CF, root directory is fine, and boot up your supercard. it does not have to be the only file in your CF card.  i had games in mine at the same time.

you do not need superpass to be inserted.  booting into GBA mode should be fine (if i remember. it's been over a month since i flashed my firmware)

run the .bin from the supercard menu.  then you should be set.

unless you've already done all this.
