Im traveling to italy next month and im wondering how i would charge my nintendo ds there. its 110v and i know that most of europe is 220 im wondering what type of special equipment i need to keep my ds from being fried..

There are some white things (adaptors)
that will convert the input/output voltage to let you charge your ds with 220 volts electricity lines.

Anyway these ones costs from 0.50 euros to 2 euros. so they are pretty cheap .
I use them for my chinese MP4s,Mp3s etc.

so you won't find big problems to charge your ds.

Enjoy Italy, and be aware of Naples  if you are planning to visit it  !

Be aware of Naples? O__O

Why my dear friend? (I am from Italy)

i just went to my local best buy and asked for a converter and it was only for changing the shape of the plug. I didnt know if it was a step up/down converter so i didnt buy it.

and also. do i need a step up or a step down converter?

Ive taken my european sp to canada and the states and just used a plug converter and it worked fine. I have also taken my DS all round europe and that charged just fine with a plug converter too.

I dont think you need a step down converter, if anything you would need a step up converter as European voltages are 220-240 volts, and I think the US is only 110 volts (might be wrong here though).
