It's basic copy-protection.  I think something autoruns which hides the area/partition with the game on it.    Quite common with CDs now and ubiquitous with DVDs.

Where is the confirmation? And about the is-DVD-is-not-DVD issue of XBOX and Wii and PS2 : if the disc is non-compliant with standard DVD rules (UDF structures, ISO9660 fallback) it's NOT a DVD. All gamediscs are, by definition, NOT DVD's. You can, however, duplicate them with DVDs.

^ Right. You can rip GC ISOs with a computer, so the same should be for Wii. Like mescalin said, it's probably copy protection. When I get a game I'll see what I can do.

no you cannot rip GC ISO's with a computer.. get your facts straight.  

they need to be read by the GC, and streamed to the PC via broadband adapter.
I have been involved with GC backups for a long time, and I know what I'm talking about.
