just thought i would post this here since we dont have an individual anime section (tho i guess its not that important for a supercard forum :P) anyways what are some anime you would recommend to others?

Some i enjoy are:

Bleach
Shaman King
Death Note
Chobits
Zoids Genesis

just to name a few

Quote from: "Shinster"I think Avatar is an american cartoon and not an anime.

While technically correct, and said some do not consider it such in my post, this is what wiki has to say about it:

Quote
Anime Style
While Avatar is not considered as anime due to being primarily American in style and writing, one review has commented that "Avatar blurs the line between anime and (US) domestic cartoons until it becomes irrelevant."

Avatar and Hayao Miyazaki
Avatar creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino confirmed a particular anime influence in a magazine interview:

"The best anime balances great action sequences with humor and emotion, something we try to do on Avatar. We love all the films of Hayao Miyazaki, especially Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. Both movies deal with spirituality and the environment in an entertaining way. Also, there's a lot of great animation."

To each his own. Personally I call it anime....but what do I know. Either way, it is a time for my daughter and I to sit down and enjoy something together (as she does not get to watch much tv) the same way I watched bugs bunny with my father.

i also enjoy avatar as well and i consider it anime to a certain extent

Initial D.  Drifting/Street racing anime.

Other than that the early Dragonball Z and Gundem stuff.

Altor

Eh, I just finished with Elfen Lied.  If you're a guy who's capable of letting a story hit his soft spot, it's really, really sad.  Some people watch it just for the nudity (it's not hentai, the nudity is virtually all artistic) and gore, but the story really pulled me in.  I don't know why it hit me so hard, but it left me depressed for a week when I watched the final episode, partly because of the events that take place, partly because there was no more to see, partly because there was so much left to explore in the story.

Uh... I also watch Avatar, it's decent.  It's actually hard for me as an adult to predict what's going to happen sometimes, which is something pretty rare in cartoons that are so PG.

Just finished watching Trigun.  A very odd series at first, but everything makes sense at the end and you're not left with any "what-ifs".  If nothing else, that's one thing I enjoyed about it.

I'm also mid-way through watching Cowboy Bebop.  I've read a lot of reviews from people saying they wish it went on longer, so obviously it must get pretty good, but right now (episode 14) I'm still kind of at a loss for what the grand story is.  There seems to be something developing, but I'm really at a loss about why they left it so late in the series to actually start telling a story.

Watching fullmetal alchemist, also.  Currently I'm at episode 10 or so, and it seems to be a pretty interesting show.

Also starting to watch Love Hina, since I've read a lot of positive reviews.  I just finished watching the first episode and it was pretty funny.  I'm wondering how any kind of serious story could possibly develop...  but I'll give it a few episodes before I give up.

....Yeah I guess I watch bleach as well.  I'm up to the latest episodes, and I don't really think the Bount arc is/was that bad, unlike most people who talk about it.

I think that's pretty much it.  I guess that pretty much covers why I have no free time lately.
