M3 or SC?

I've been reading here for a while. But it seems SC is much better for DS and M3 is better for GBA. I like SC SD's design more as well. I don't need movies or music, I have a Play-Yan. I want a great flashcart for GBA and DS. I might pick up a Micro soon too. It'd help to save money on the SC but I don't want many problems in GBA games.

Sorry, I know this is asked a lot. But could I get your thoughts?

Oh yeah, I'll only buy the SD version, no CF.

Deadmon

I can't say much until Romman releases his new patch for the NDS..

mrEkli

I heard it might be released this week, is that true?

Also the M3 is still in beta.
I've been playing with it for almost two weeks now.
I'd say it's superior to the SC in both GBA and DS functions (for now).

Hi brakken, i already saw it, it is a fine job, but i ask to who now owns an M3 and a SC so he can point out the real differences rgarding the use of the card not only the structutural differences of the cards as you wisely made..thanks

In a nutshell:
M3:
+ loads faster (both DS and GBA)
+ far far more compatible (absolutely NO slowdowns in GBA mode)
+ built-in battery backed SRAM (no need to remember to save)
+ drop in a GBA ROM and you're good to go, you only need to patch if you want to do real-time save/IPS patch
+ crystal engine (really not that big a deal as from my observations the quality gain is minimal but the filesize gain is quite significant since it generates much smaller ROMs and it's faster to encode)
+ built in clock for GBA functions, unfortunately the damn pokemon games don't work so until they fix that particular problem, the clock is useless
+ better battery life

SC:
+ smaller and lighter than the M3
+ better implementation of real time saves (multiple slots etc)
+ cheaper (big plus)
+ not hampered by the 10 slot gamesave soft limit for saving your games in both DS and GBA

I'll post a comparison review sometime this week.  I like both devices but the M3 takes the cake so far.

On another note does anyone here own a Movie Player Advance?
What else can you do with it outside of the built-in functions?
I bought one from Lik Sang ages ago (the big-ass 1st Gen one) and it's just sitting there collecting dust.
Can you load homebrew in there (GBA or DS)?  I know about the Famicom emulator but there's a hard limit on the ROM sizes that are playable.

mat

!!! M3 only has 10 save slots???  :?

Unfortunately, unlike the ball, people do not bounce.

Yes, you get 10 sram save slots each for GBA and NDS.
Brakken says there are 3 slots per sram save slot so maybe a 30 game limit each.  I have never been able to access the other sram save slots so for me the limit is 10 per system.
It's retarded, I know.

i guess it is for using with nds bigger save sizes...

speedoom

which is better for GBASP and GBA games...
Supercard or M3?....advantages?disadvantages?

anyone wanna do a review?

pokemon emerald & advance wars 1 & 2 works with M3?
WTB] Supercard.....new or used..
pm me,malaysian

I'm not sure about Pokemon Emerald but the RTC pokemons I have been unable to boot with the M3.  Advance Wars series works fine though.  And the M3 has no slowdown but the pokemon incompatibility pisses me off (plus the M3 is HUGE).  Looks really nasty on the GB Micro.
If you don't care about the size, the M3 is near perfect for GBA stuff.
