some ROM files come as the USA version, others as Europe or Jap version. The Jap version is obviously in jap lang.

Which leaves the question...whats the difference between USA roms and Europe roms?

jmr

the European ones have European languages in them :D

Not only that, but there's a difference in the way Americans and other english speaking countries talk.  American has a lot of slang and references, whereas English in Europe is still proper.

At least, that's what I would consider the difference to be.

Yeah and sometimes the EUR or USA version, depending on which came first, has little bugfixes or even censorship applied, although I can't think of any DS games where this has happened. I always use the (U) versions, since that's what most people use and has the biggest chance of getting trained or a savegame editor being released for. Yeah, I'm a cheater. Unless the game is really good, but that's rare nowadays :|

In the euro version, all the words such as colour and favour are spelt correctly

Most EU games get multi-language support. Thus, they tend to be bigger in MB size than U. I personally use the EU version, as my native language is spanish, mainly because translators are used to change a lot of names from items, attacks and stuff, and it's easier for me to only have to memorize one set of data instead of two ^^ (one for spanish speakers, one for english speakers).
