Hi

So say that I knew how to program in C and I wanted to created my own nds game sell it.  Obviously, I'm not a company, so I couldn't become a licensed nintendo devoloper, but what would stop me from creating an unlicensed nintendo game?

Well, how would I go about doing it?

It must be possible. If not, how are nopass devices made?

And obviously I'm just speculating here. I can't program in anything other than quickbasic, so I couldn't make an nds game.

Also, if did make a game, would my game get a rom#?

Read the tutorials on DS programming, that's a good place to start.  Someone else can probably tell you a good place to find those.

Nopass devices, I suspect, actually use some components out of legit game carts.  I think maybe they buy exteme low-quality games that nobody wants in bulk, then take what they need and throw the rest away.  That way they have the RSA validation thing that's so hard to crack.  That's just speculation and conspiracy theory though, probably way off.

You wouldn't get a rom# unless it was officially published, I think.

If you actually made a game that was fun and good quality, you might actually be able to pitch the idea to Nintendo.  They're a fairly open-minded company, and who knows... I mean, really, there's no reason why they'd just say "This game's fun, high quality, family-friendly, and would give us $$$.  NAH!"

Hi

Interesting about the nopass carts...

I've read that nintendo only makes there products licened to companys.

Yeah, it's just an uneducated theory from an uneducated individual though.  Give it a couple hours, someone will tell me I'm an idiot and give you the proper explanation.
