QuoteChism has updated his GBAMP Nintendo DS Firmware to version 2.0 (09/27) which includes a fix for ScummVM swapped screens after loading MoonShell, but he still hasn't figured out why NESDS wont load. This is an unofficial version of the GBAMP firmware that will let you boot homebrew NDS (or backup using the new patcher) on your GBAMP which of course uses Compact Flash Media to load from.

They need to hurry up and release the new firmware, it's sad if it turns out my super old GBAMP can run larger than 256mb roms and save before the fairly new Supercard.

Why do they need to "hurry up"? If you already own a GBAMP then why do you care how long it takes for the Supercard to get updated? Funny how those who dont code think that the people who do code need to "hurry up" and please them.

They need to hurry up if they want to continue to sell new cards.  With sights showing sc running 72% of roms and others running 95%, people aren't going to pay $60 to buy a supercard when they can pick up a gbamp for $25 especially if it runs more games.

THINK man, Think, that's why you have that thing keeping your ears apart.

What do mean "sights showing sc running 72% of roms and others running 95%" 1 site does and many people have already posted to correct Brakken that it's more then 72%. I didnt realize you were worried about supercards bottom line, do you own stock in them or something?

tehskeen.com reviews seem kind of biased.. i'm mean, maybe if people made me part of a hardware beta testing team, i would be a bit biased too. heh.

No, I don't own stock, but I sure want them to keep selling them, so they will have a good reason to keep improving the firmware/software.  And I want more importers to pick them up, so they will go down even further.   The link to tehskeen.net is already posted on several other ds/gamecube sites, even on the official site now.  It won't be long before google puts it near the top when people search for nds flashcards/devkits.  It would be in everyone's that owns a supercard, or a coulple of supercards as in my case if it was corrected before then.   Even if the patch software isn't ready, it would be good if just the firmware were released, cause with that alone would cause the supercard's numbers to jump to 95% cause 512mb roms could run with ndspatcher already released.

Whos offical site? M3's? If so refer to sneefs post above yours. Also the firmware wil be continued to be worked on no matter how many future sales they have. Are you telling me that GBAMP released a new firmnware only because they sold alot of new units lately? Umm im gonna guess no. As with all types of things dealing in this manner, after we buy something were at the mercy of the coders to do the up keep. Now along those lines coders are more likely to keep on blessing us with new updates if they can see that there work is appreciated. Believe me "Thank yous" go alot further with these people then "they better hurry up and release a new version". Be patient and thankful for what you do have.

The official forums, people are asking why sc has such crap compatiablility and placing links to that chart.

The GBAmp people stopped updating firmware long ago, all the new features have been added by unofficial hackers, but you better believe that GBAmp's at $25 will be selling like hotcakes now.

I also noticed that neoflash has released a universal flasher, http://www.neoflash.com/forum/index.php?topic=807.0  looks like the sc is the only card other than my 5 year old 256mb flash card that can't play 512mb roms.

Money drives companies, not thanks, if the sc is to thrive people have to continue to buy it, at least until the quanity sold gets a large enough that the hacker base can add needed functions the device.

Ya news flash, Supercard isn't a company and Romman isn't a CEO. But to go along with you, do post like "They need to hurry up and release the new firmware, it's sad if it turns out my super old GBAMP can run larger than 256mb roms and save before the fairly new Supercard." drive companies?

As an owner of a gbamp v2 I can say this news is total bullshit ^^
chishm gbamp nds firmware 2 DOES NOT allow you to run commercial roms (clean dumps, patched or whatever)
and most likely it will never be the case...(chishm is against piracy)

so please don't mislead people with that kind of rumour :p

stick with your supercard, m3/g6 , mk for stuff like that ^^

DeVS

Ohh thank God, Supercard has more time now, lmfao!

Shoryu... are you sure roms that have been patched with ndspatch.exe can't work on the gbamp with chishm's firmware?  I don't care if he's against piracy or not... i'm just curious. brakken's news report made logical sense to me, however I don't own a gbamp.  (and i am not going to buy one, as i already have a couple 512mbit carts and the supercard too)

DeVS

Well theres nothing about it on DS Update and this is the only news about it at GBA Dev:

Works
-------------------------
Earth Invaders v1.0
OMalone

Doesnt
-------------------------
Commercial Roms
Commercial Demos
Heretic
Hexen
SnesDS
ScummVM (non demo)
Collecovision Emu (new one supporting multiple roms)

sWampy did you not even test this?
