QuoteI have been selling SuperCards for nearly two years now. I must be doing something wrong as I am not making the easy money you write about. The idea that I could make $100 just for licking some stamps and driving to the post office is a great one but I have been unable to do it in reality. Maybe I was wrong to give up my day job!
If you make enough money selling supercards in order to not need a day job, this only solidifies the fact that you'll be buying a minimum of 100 units.  Why say you're only buying 50, then ask people to say what they think a reasonable price point based on the wholesale price for only 50?

I've run e-businesses before (I sold them eventually when I got tired of it), and I'll grant you that it's not just a matter of licking stamps.  But it's not like it's hard work, either.  Answering emails, shipping packages... maybe a couple hours a day.  In fairness to the customer, can you expect them to pay a large premium, to make it as if you were working 8+ hours a day like the rest of us?

I work 11 hours a day... honestly now that I know what the wholesale price is, I find it offensive that such a comparatively large profit is made compared to other products I know about.

Maybe I'll save up and open an internet store for DS stuff at some point, just sell stuff $2.00 above cost or something.

You're kidding right?  Please tell me you're kidding.  Really.  I'm going to be sick.  A price increase in exchange for technology that's already readily available?  Supercard's only advantage is that it does a decent job, cheaply.  Remove the cheaply, and it's going to be massacred by M3, Link, X, Ninja, Acekard...  the list goes on.  Really please tell me that's some kind of joke in bad taste.

Even at the wholesale price point posted earlier, it's still going to be $10 more expensive than the M3 slot 1 card... I like Supercard as a brand, it's got really good support and does all the right things, but the price isn't right anymore.

So... what, has the wholesale price gone up too?  At close to $20 profit per unit, that would just be outrageous.

Quote from: "bitblt". . . I believe Rommans team is going to deliver the best slot1 solution yet.  Personaly, I would pay $50-$60 to pre-order one today.

BTW I already own a DSLink and a DS-X. (crazy, I know)

Not meaning to get off topic here, but how do you like the DSLink? The whole flashme thing is not an issue for me (I flashed all of my DS's) and the idea of a slot1 solution that handles removable media sounds good. What do you think of it?

I like my DSLink better than my DS-X.  Don't get me wrong the DS-X is an excellent device if fixed 512MB flash doesn't bother you.

HOW TO use Supercard and DSLink at the same time (bitblt)

I have not used either, but the 512MB flash is the thing that's stopping me from buying the DS-X.... it sounds great otherwise... Hopefully this SC DS will be as good as it's sounding.  :)

Hi

It's true that the supercard slot-1 will be more expensive, but for once it sounds like it will actually dominate the marcket without a lower price. See, it's got more features than the M3's slot 1, and as many features as the dslink. The ds-x is $150, so the supercard still beats that. Plus, the dslink requires a flashed Ds. Not to mention homebrew support...
