Compared with the gbatemp review ( http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=37209 ), how is the DS-Link faring now?  Slowdowns fixed?  Compatibility improved?  How about homebrew?  Is moonshell still the only thing that works?

Well, there is a DSLink version of DSOrganize on the website as well. I own the DS-Link (nice build quality btw!) but am still waiting on my microSD card.

The last DSLink firmware/patcher update introduced the "Soft Reset" option and improved ROM compatibility. There are a handful of newer ROMs that still don't work. Hopefully there will be another update soon. I haven't noticed significant slowdowns in games using my 2GB Sandisk. The Castlevania intro is not perfect but runs best formatted FAT16. DSLink can run Opera browser using a slot 2 supercard as a RAM pack.  There is a DSLink version of DSOrganize and Moonshel available using the DSLink FAT driver. Source code is available to add DSLink FAT driver support to other homebrew. Supercard and DSLink can be linked and used at the same time . . .

Thanks for the info.

Did I hear somewhere that the DS-Link can be used as a passme now, with some recent update, or NDS file or something?  I'm probably thinking of something else, but I don't know what it'd be.

That would be useful, I recently sold my passme to a friend, and I need a new one.  If my DSLink can act as one, thats a couple dollars spared, maybe for the next raffle :)

No the DSLink can't be used as a passme. It requires flashme to be installed to work.

you are probably thinking of dslinker, not ds link.  I think dslinker is supposed to be able to act the same as a specific passme, by flashing the appropriate .nds file to the card.

Quote from: "realhotstuff description"Do NOT need any passme/flashme. DSLinker can be also a SuperKey or PassCard, if wirte the SuperKey or PassCard program in it.
however, i suggest reading bitblt's first impressions of dslinker before you consider buying one! [/edit]

The latest 1.40/1.41 updates fix a lot of stuff.  Tony Hawk works, Tom & Jerry works, etc.  Castlevania POR seems to work right now too.

Nacho Libre - still hiccups like mad
Ultimate Spiderman - still locks up at the beginning

Still playing ...

Castlevania still freezes...but it takes longer to do so now for some reason. I spoke with someone on GBATemp, and he had the same result. So, while it is not fixed, it is progress I suppose.
