Ok so i saw that the Supercard DS is ready for preorder on realhotstuff.com (probly the only site ill order from) anyways i dont ahve much money and i dont want to wast $50+microsd card on something that is not worth it.

So im wondering should i preorder it now and know that ill get it, or should i wait for a review and see how good it is and see if the internet acutally works, and the clean rom stuff, and some pathcing details ,and i want to use it during x-mas break because i dont get a lot of free time, BUT by that time do you think that realhotsuff will be sold out?,  About how long does it take to recieve more SCDS cards???

Tahnk you in advance to anyone who helps!

It is never known how long it will be before RHS gets more after the first batch. Could be in a week...could be more. I would definitely think that the pre-orders will send RHS into an out of stock status rather quickly, if not as soon as they recieve that first batch. I would go for it personally (I did!). $50 is not a large amount to pay really, and a microSD card is something you can use either way...on other microSD devices or even in SD devices with the included adapter. Newegg has 1GB Transcend microSD cards for a little over $30 shipped right now. I purchased one of these and it works so well that I ordered a second one :)

You can wait for reviews and so on, but I think it would be safe to say that a slot1 device from the Supercard team is almost guaranteed to be a success due to the constant updates and so forth they have shown in previous models. I mean heck, they still supply updates for the SC CF, which is a great card as well but discontinued.

Alot of people are looking at the M3 slot1 device, and it most likely will be great as well. But, I own a few M3 cards, and while the cards perform very good, the team behind the M3 updates are really not too community oriented. I am meaning by this that they do not work with the homebrew developers, hence the homebrew arena is not all that great. Hopefully the M3 team wises up and supplies needed information on the new slot1 device to the devs. I do not think we will see this problem with the SC DS.

Enough rambling (when I'm tired I ramble!). Just do what you want. I say buy the pre-order...doubt you'll regret it.

Honestly, I'm waiting for the M3 Real. SC sounds... promising. But I'm reading the reviews first. The only reason I can see myself getting one would be for the expanded memory (because it works along with slot-2 Super Cards) and the new menu. I think SC is going towards the M3 direction, but still staying the cheapest, which will help in it's domination for sure :). (At about 50 bucks, though it is pricey, it's currently the cheapest I know)

The DS-Link works alongside the SC as well....testing this with Opera tonight :) I of course cannot say for sure how all of the cards will operate in this respect, but I would venture to guess that there is a good chance that any of the slot1 devices can interface with a slot2 card, providing two factors. One being that the slot2 device *has* memory, and secondly that a proper patch is provided for the program in question (ie: the Opera patch for SC/M3)
