go to the link above to check each game's save size, or just guess, and if it doesn't work try another.

there's a file in the firmware that contains the savefile database - ndsinfo.dat - all it needs is to be edited

within a couple weeks some generous scene geek with no life will be sharing a fully repaired ndsinfo.dat file. then we just have to update it as games are released. since this is something we can probably manage on our own, it sure beats waiting for patch updates.

onekelly

sweet, by chance are you that geek, kidding! I do agree it beats waiting for patches.

10 years ago, I'd have been that geek. Now I'm a father of three and holding down full-time employment. Sadly, I must decline.

(sorry guys it's been a very busy day at work)
Quote from: "onekelly"bitblt, thanks for the update and the detailed descriptions! I don't have a sc cf but that is very interesting, but i do not understand the advantage of that feature, can you explain?
Well, I plan to keep my SCDS in slot1 at all times with my favorite games and hombrew on my 2GB Sandisk microSD. When I want to use my SCDS together with my SCCF I can keep tons of other games, homebrew, mp3's, video, ScummVM games, etc. on my 4GB CF card. This gives me a total of 6GB of available space to work with.  It's only a convenience to run the SCCF version of moonshell from the SCDS OS to browse files on the CF card. Yes, I could just switch to the SCCF menu instead.

The fatlib used by Lick with DSLiveWeather can cross link files with any version Supercard (SCCF/SCSD/SCmini/SClite). So it should be possible to create a modified version of the SCDS OS that can load commercial ROM's from both slot1 and slot2.
Quote from: "onneeye"Where do you get the supercard unpatcher? My comings next week.
Sorry, find the topic on it.
Sneef has pointed out that the "unpatcher" is not needed.  Simply hold the SELECT button to boot slot 1 instead of slot 2. (I thought I had tried holding SELECT and it didn't work?)
Quote from: "jbullfrog"Is the Castlevania you are talking about, Castlevania POR?
Castlevania DoS.
Quote from: "Devil_Spawn"so what about the sc:sd build of moonshell? do you mean it only works with fat libs that supports the scsd??
There is a SCDS version of Moonshell that works great with SCDS FAT.

As an option you can run (from the SCDS menu) the SCCF version of Moonshell to browse and run files on the CF card.  The SD version of Moonshell doesn't work like this.  The problem is with with the fatlib used with the SD version of Moonshell.
Quote from: "gamesphere"Since scds plays clean roms, If i put the clean rom on scds and the .sav from my games on the sc lite will it still work? Meaning, Can i use the saves from my sc lite with clean roms?
No you can't cross link save files. You will be able to use your save files with SCDS clean ROMs though (I think).

Can you elaborate as to what extent the artifacting on the patched Opera consists of? You say minor, which leads me to believe that it does not interfere with browsing (maybe button/menu glitches?).
Nintendo DSi
Nintendo Wii - cIOS38 Revision 12 (and more)
Madden PSP Slim v5.00 M33-6

So no need for sm-mk4ds.nds or the unpatcher? Just hit select to boot into Slot 1?

sneef

well, it worked on my (faulty) supercard DS.  :)  my replacement should be on its way soon.. i'll test on that too.

Hi, i was wondering if supercard DS One would support cheating using Dipstar codes. It was made possible to work with M3, but not with Supercard slot-2 versions. Hope someone could give some info on this.

I just though of something and not sure if it has been addressed. I know it is not possible to run GBA from a Slot 1 device (without emulation)... but what about Gameboy or NES? GB and NES both are supported through emulation (Goomba and what not). In theory, they should work.

Probably won't since the emulators were GBA emulators. Anyone tried NesDS yet?

So far I cannot say I am all that impressed. Can't get the Opera Browser to work. Set it to 4M like bitblt said and all I get is Bookmark Data Corruption... and then it locks up.

I also get a "An Error Was Detected" upon bootup.

Not sure if I like this thing yet as much as the DSLink.

Exactly, the Opera browser seems to work fine but a couple of buttons in the interface have the wrong graphic. (This doesn't happen with DSLink.) I'm not sure if there is some way to fix this minor problem by changing SCDS settings.

Yes, simply holding SELECT will do the trick. Apparent I didn't hold SELECT long enough when I was testing the first time.

I have not had an opportunity to test cheat functions.

You will definitely need an emulator to run GB, NES, and SNES games. You can't run the Goomba emulator because it was designed for GBA. You will have to experiment with emulators designed for DS.
