SCDS One works fine on all 3 of my Flashed Lites.

QuoteCan the SCDS connect to the Nintendo WiFi Connection and play online?

Works with the DS browser which goes online... so I guess it would work the same for games.

True, but the problem with that DS-X feature is that it loads the last game ROM automaticly (at least for me).

I was not talking about the "instant boot" feature of DS-X.  Auto/manual is a setting in the Nintendo DS firmware.  If it's set to manual then a real DS game won't boot at startup and neither will DS-X but if it's on automatic they both boot at startup.

I set it to manual since I like being able to change brightness as soon as I turn on the DS and have access to DS Download Play.

Now I understand what you are saying. I did not try that.

I was merely pointing out that SCDS boots without changing DS settings, and you don't have to respond to the Nintendo warning screen.

Quote from: "moviecouple"Welll, with the MK4 dump... I can boot into the SCDS first and then use it to boot into Slot 2... then I can go into Slot 1 again with it... but after that... I cannot go back into Slot 2. So I think you can only do it so many times.
This is how I do it. With SCDS and SC slot 2 both inserted in my DS Lite I first boot to the SCDS menu. Then I use LoveLite to boot to the slot 2 Supercard menu. From the slot 2 Supercard menu I use the MK4 dump to return to the SCDS menu. I can go back and forth as many times as I want without needing to power cycle. When I combine this behavior with "In Game Reset " I have a high-level  environment. Now if more homebrew would support Licks cartreset lib then life would be perfect.

If flashme is not installed then the DS will always boot the SCDS. This is why I say it's a flashme thing. It is flashme that looks for "PASS" in the GBA boot area. When SELECT is held flashme bypasses this check and boots normally.

Well I was really trying to say it wasn't something that couldn't be overcome by patching the supercard as the unpatcher shows.   It's just there hasn't been a full version of the sc rumble series bios released yet, so a patcher can't be made yet. ;-/

I see what you were doing. .. and I got it to work like you were saying. Thanks.

But, what good is all that If the SCDS One doesn't have soft reset from a game. You will still have to power down to get back to the main menu... or use the patching software (which doesn't seem to be what people want in the SCDS One) to get to be able to use the soft reset. In theory it is great... but not yet practical.

What we really need is a way to boot into Slot 1 without the holding of Select. That is really annoying. Can't wait till you or Zektor tries Unpatcher on the SCLite.

Hi

I agree soft-reset is an important feature.

But, if it's important, it should be important enouph to be worth the small difficulty of patching!

Seriously, whats so hard about patching roms in the first place???

I don't mind patching roms.

Why do you???

It takes 30 seconds of your time!

Ive also noticed that when you are using Lovelite 1.4 on an SCLite, that after you do a soft reset from a game... the Lovelite program locks up.

Hi

soft-reset-ing isn't perfect. But I don't think there is a way around this. Ds games just arn't made to soft-reset, so making them soft-reset causes bugs. There's no way around this.

But I do think the ability to soft-reset is very nice. There arn't many bugs. I just wish that it was possible to allow homebrew to soft-reset.

I don't mind patching roms at all actually. It is quick and painless in my opinion. Plus... it seems more error proof than using Drag & Drop.

But.... the SCDS1 (this is now how it should be referred as) is really designed for Drag and Drop useability. The patching for it is really only a backup for games that don't work. If people wanted to use patching... they would use the SCSD/MiinSD or SDLite which have all been tried and true devices.

Slot 1 devices in general are all or most of them going to be Drag And Drop. That way the companies (again in theory) don't have to constantly monitor every game to make sure they work... or they have to release patches. Less wear and tear for them. I think in the beginning that most people thought Slot 1 devices were going to be just smaller (than Slot 2) and possible have less battery drain. In fact they were really meant to be Drag And Drop... pull the game over to you Flash Memory... and presto... the game works perfectly. No patching, less hassle, and 100% compatibility. Again that was in theory. We have seen that it isn't possible... YET.

I am pretty confident that it will get to be nearly 85%-90% that way for Drag And Drop. You have to remember what the early Flash Carts were like and then see what they have become nowadays. A pretty big jump in advancements. Even with just the DS... the Supercard CF was a huge huge monster of a device. Now look what it has become... the SCLite and now the SCDS1. Pretty big leap.

Is there an option to select rom on first touch launch on 2nd, or a verify?  I keep launching the wrong game while trying to select a menu option.   Also, is there a way to page down?

Well, my SCLites should arrive next week. I'll do it on one of them when they come, unless some other brave soul does it before me :)

Well... here is something interesting. I recently got a second Supercard MiniSD for a GBA Micro I got for Christmas. I just got it from realhotstuff... so it is only a few days old... brand new in otherwords.

I stuck it inside my DS and wanted to run unptacher on it. It doesn't work. It asks you to hit Left/Right and Up... but then nothing happends. It doesn't do anything at all.

I thought maybe it was my unpatcher file... so I tried it on my old Supercard SD and then my original MiniSD and it worked perfectly.

Looks like they chnaged the header on the more recent Supercards.

The newer cards have a different chip. I posted this in the DS-Link/Opera thread I believe, and submitted info to cory1492, who in turn updated the unpatcher. Look in that thread for the updated file and try it again.

Does anyone elses browser lock up all the time?   It usually loads the first page fine, but then probally 70% of the time it locks up when you put in another link/click on a link.   I wish they would go ahead and release a us browser, I'd buy it in a heart beat, especially if they would make the rampack rumble.
