Today, my supercard started to randomly detect my CF card and most of the time it won't. Its not the CF card because it works in the computer and other machines...

I tried to reupgrade, but that didn't help. I checked for bent prongs, and they were all in order. If I held L+R when turning on supercard, when it says "TEST CF" it results in :

CF error:
error code:05   CF state:50

Where do i report the error codes, and can someone tell me what to do to fix it? Please, please respond... this is urgent. I do not have the money to buy a new SCCF..

that error simply means it cant find a cf card. searching for answers helps :

Quote from: "bitblt"Take a real close look at the pins inside your CF slot.  Are any of them bent?

also try searching there were a few posts about this

If you read a little closer in my post you would find

I already looked for bent pins. They are fine...

Why can't my Supercard detect the CF card? It does it to both of them which work fine in the computer

Man, same thing happened to me last week. And mine is dead. That was my second SCCF. They both lasted me about a year each so I got my money's wothy. I'm moving on to SC DS now. Hopefully I'll still be able to use the dead card as a RAM pack since the tests said the sram and sdram were still fine.

wowowowait!! WOW!!

I looked inside my supercard where the CF card goes in, and there were black smudges on the little chip on the side. I noticed the SAME black smudges on my CF card, so i wiped them off my supercard, and now it works!!!

My supercard WORKS!!! YES!!! :D :D :D
754boy, check for black smudges!

Spray 409 on a Q-tip and rub it off with that. It cleans everything off without damaging it. Don't use alchohol because there's an about 10% chance that it'll kill it.

OOPS......guess its dead for real now

I guess you could try 409 over the alchohol. Maybe you'll get lucky, but it's never worked before.

What? Formula 409? Umm...let's just say you got lucky if you use that harse chemical...

No, 91% isopropyl alcohol is what SHOULD be used to clean the contacts/board of the Supercard. Do not use 70%. Clean it with Q-tips. Alternately, you can use an eraser on the contacts, and then use compressed air to blow off the eraser residue. If the pins are in line, a good cleaning should do it. I would also recommend grabbing a cleaning kit that will clean the cart slot on the DS too.

Trust me. 409 works great. You can use it to clean off nearly anything with metal pins.
