Got my replacement DS! As bonus, they gave me a STUCK PIXEL

Arrgh!

Got a replacement DS from Nintendo, but it's got a stuck blue pixel in the lower left corner of the top screen... no massage possible.

I'm currently trying one of those seizure-inducing pixel fixers    I was thinking though, wouldn't it be more effective and less risky (I've heard about creating NEW stuck pixels through this process) if I could just target the specific pixel and bombard only it with the seizury goodness?

Is there such a program?  I've seen other requests for this kind of program, possibly even a link to one, but I think I found the link was dead.  Does anyone know where I might find something like this?

Thanks!

i dont think their is specific pixel programme, however the 'seizure-inducing pixel fixer' i have used requires you to close thelid of your ds to use it

if leaving it oner overnight doesnt work, you should be able to get nintendo to replace it i guess

Same shit happened to me. I just called them back and told them the replacement they sent had 6 dead pixels ( it only had 1) and they replaced the replacement. If you tell them it has more then like 5 dead pixels they will replace. They will never look at the unit you send back and check it for 6 dead pixels so no worries there.

Lol the weird thing about my dead pixel is that it is like half a dead pixel.  I kind of gave up.  I had 4 DS Lites...

Yea I got another replacement and now it has a cracked hinge.  Can anyone recommend any sort of glue to fix this since I don't want to send for another one.

Hanafuda

how ironic. same thing happened to me ... first had hinge crack & sent it back ... replacement had stuck pixel, sent it back ... replacement was ok for 1.5 months, then got hinge crack AND stuck pixel within one week. Waiting for shipping label now.

I have invisible shield on mine so even with the lifetime warranty this gets really annoying because I don't want dirt under the shield but I have to use it to see if it has a crack UGH.

Quote from: "iignotus"And you can't get a replacement for this one... why?
I can, it's just inconvenient.  And who's to say the next one will be good?  Or the one after that?

How long should I leave this thing flickering?  Like, if it's run for an hour, does that mean that it's probably not going to be fixable?  If I left it running for a week or something, would there still be a chance that on the NEXT color cycle it'd work fine?

I would think that if you contact them and tell them that you have a problem AGAIN, that they will surely be extra certain that it will not happen again. Who knows, if you complain enough about the inconvenience, they may just throw you a bone :)

It is really inconvenient.  I could drive down to Richmond and just get a new one and I find that inconvenient, can't imagine a several day wait for my DS.

Get advanced replacement. You give them your card and they charge you 5 bucks. You KEEP your DS, and when you get the new one they mail you, you put the old one in the box. What's the big deal?

I get charged those 5 bucks then i have to get another 3 bucks because of my invisible shield and for other people its more expensive getting new screen protectors.  If they would just get these things to stop having cracks and stuck pixels we woudln't be complaining.

The dead pixel and crack rate is LOW now. I rarely ever see dead pixels on the DS. These are mostly reserved for the PSP :)

As for protectors, why would you install protectors on a screen that has a dead pixel? Test the screen thoroughly before installing these protectors.

I don't but i get cracks and they don't just show up after a day.  You use it for atleast a week and a half before they show up.
