Are all those ROM files getting confusing?
Do you want to be able to tell what a file is without checking the extension?
Do you not know how to set icons for ROMs?

If your answer is YES to any of the above, you need StickyIcon!

StickyIcon is a very simple little utility that allows you to set icons for any filetype you want!

It's dead easy to use, with just 4 steps.

By using this tool, you accept that RomNet is not responsible for any damage to anything caused by this tool. It is not designed to damage anything, but it could

You need a computer with Windows 2000 or above, and a least DirectX 8

Inside the download is a sample pack of icons. You can make your own by using an Icon creator, there are plenty of free ones on the internet. If oyu make some nice icons, please post them here and with your permission I will add them to the StickyIcon Page

Happy Icon-ing!

PS:
If you don't know what the file extensions for things are, use these
.nds is a Clean NDS ROM
.dsq is a Patched NDS ROM
.gba is a GBA ROM
.sav is a Save File
.sci is a GBA Real Time Save File

Thank you! This is really helpful. (By the way, the link to the download is working, but the link to the site is down)

EDIT: Fixed, see post below.

Actually, if you type in "make icons" or "icon creator" or anything like that in Google, you get about 10 million trials. Same thing if you go as far as "icon freeware". So after many hours of searching, I found this one that IS free and have taken the liberty of posting it for you. :)

i tried to use it but it only seems to work with files that are .NDS and not .nds

It works with my .nds files...
Sometimes on some computers you have to reboot for the changed to take effect. What version of Windows are you running?

Nice program. I've always wanted to make a similar app using preset iconsets for various emu-related files. Here are some nice icons I use for my .nds and .gba files:

The .gba icon is from the tool GBATA. The .nds icons are made from .gif's I stumbled across online. The icons are best viewed @ 16x16 pixels (List or Details view in Explorer).
