Supercard DS

well, got an email from Celery at hopebuy, and they told me that there were a few supercard DS units that have a PCB problem and that they will replace it for me..

I still think there's something causing the Supercard DS to not make full contact with the DS slot pins.  Because on 3 different DS's my unit has a problem locking in, and yes, i'm pressing it properly.  I can only get it to stick by pressing on the left side of the cart (with the back of the DS facing me), and only about 20% of the time.  and even then, most of the time the DS won't recognize it.

well, i'm glad to hear at least 2 reports of ZERO problems, which is super-encouraging!  that means it's most likely my replacement will be fine.

sneef, sorry to hear you got a lemon, but we run that risk when buying the first off the line.

keepin' my fingers crossed mine doesn't fall in that category, too ... i've had it bad enough recently with my DSL ... hinge crack AND fixed pixel both showed up in the last week. Called Nintendo tonite to send it in for replacement. While you guys are working out the kinks, i'll be begging my kid for time on his DS.

off topic:  what do you think the chances of me getting nintendo to replace a foreign DS Lite are?  It's from singapore.  has hinge crack.. it's less than 6 months old.. but i know it's a different type of serial number, because I couldn't even register it on nintendo.com

might as well try it.  Maybe they won't notice or care.

I tried to get Nintendo to service (i.e. I was willing to pay) a 1st gen GBA-SP bought in Japan, and it took about 10 minutes before the person on the phone was even willing to talk options, and then what I was offered was to turn in the one I had and buy a refurb. She told me their policy with non-USA Nintendo products was to consider them "gray-market." But apparently if you're persistent, they may accommodate you eventually.

Yes, the new Supercard DS (One) can run the Opera browser. Opera browser needs to be set to 4M save before it will run correctly.

That is very very good news that the Opera browser will work. A huge load off my mind. Mine will be here some time today or tomorrow at the latest, so it will be a great holiday for me.

Anyways... Merry Christmas all.

What kind of ram does the browser work with?   Does it require the gba ram, so this only works with a sccf/sd/lite, and not the rumble series?   If it won't work with the rumble series will it work with a regular gba flash card?

Opera patched does not work with the rumble series supercards. They don't have GBA RAM that is needed.

Darn I was afraid of that, I don't have a regular lite, just a bunch of rumble lites, and a couple of cf cards.  I like the idea of it not sticking out.  Guess I should sell off my other cards and pick up a lite.   Will it work with like a flash advance?  At least those don't stick out a mile and I have several of them.

tested minisd version and supercard lite work fine

Has anyone tested if FlashMe works?

Thanks in advance.

Elaborate. Do you mean if you can install it, or if you can use a flashed machine? If any of these..yes and yes.
