R4 and M3?

What is the difference between these two carts?  They both seem to do the exact same thing.  


A side question:

Also, why would someobody want a side loading microsd slot on the ez5?  It's not like the microsd would all out.  Personally, I would want the microsd facing towards me like the SCSD mini.

The difference is the company... and the software... and everything.

Oh, and with a microSD on the side it looks better. Otherwise you have a thick black line on the top of your DS (unless you're using an original DS... but still).

MicroSD's are very small and thus pretty fragile. If you would drop your DS or accidentally bump the microSD on a corner of a table you could damage it. That risk is a lot smaller with a side loading device. And has a cleaner look.

thanks guys.  Is there any r4 forum?  I am having so much difficulty choosing a slot 1 device.  They all seemed to come in one big wave.

I'm getting an R4 as a review sample within 3-4 days, and I'm making a full video review.
About a week after that I'm getting given an M3 Simply so I'll compare the two for you!

Not any official ones yet, but from people's posts in GBAtemp, it seems like they are really happy with it, especially Sinkhead.  :)
