Yeah I have. Some people can't handle the fingerprints or just don't like the glossy finish.

even though i only get 1 day of this week

i did try & spray my old blue shell black but i could not get it right so i wet & dryed 95% of it back to bare plastic just the hinges are still black
& now its a pastel blue

Thundrestrike

I can't see it on the computer im on right now, but I can on the other computer (brightness setting?)

Although i got a cool DS, i am now supercard-less and no one seems to want to help :doubt: (its messed up)

i've been wanting to do something like this to my ds for a long time. so Thundrestrike if you don't mind i would really like a few questions anwsered. if at all possible a step by step guide but i think i get the main points behind this.
i've never spray painted anything, not the real arts and crafts type of guy so is it relatively easy?
this may be a stupid question but i'm guessing you took the ds apart right?

and my last idea and this goes for anyone out there like the other questions really if you have experience. would it be a good idea to try it on my old GBA first? would it be pretty similar to what i'd be doing to a DS?

thanks for any responses. i've been wanting to do something like this since i got my ds but don't really know where to start.

Thundrestrike

oh yes! :)

If you want to try a GBA, it would be good to test it out with. Also, it may help to buy an extra NDS shell to work with incase you mess up on one.

Take it apart, spraypaint light LIGHT coats about every hour for about 4 times. Before you sleep, give it a thick shiny coating (place a plastic basket face down on top so no dust falls on it) and wait till morning. Do this again the following night, until you are satisfied! It should be ready to put back together after the second thick coating

Hmm... I'll only say it's cool if it's a v5 phat with the super bright screens when flashme-d :P  Otherwise, it seems like a lot of effort when you can just buy a lite and get a system that's sexy the moment you first see it :D

Thundrestrike

ds-lite is another $120 for something i already have :P

phat DS V1 modded = priceless (really, i didnt pay anything)
