Look, it doesn't do download play according to the GBAtemp review.

DS Single cart download play - Unflashed DS to unflashed DS > FAIL
DS Single cart download play - Flashed DS to unflashed DS > FAIL
DS Single cart download play - Unflashed DS to flashed DS > PASS

If it can, thats great news.  No need for me to go out and buy a DSX anymore.  

Also, according to one of the GBATemp reviews, it stated that there were no slot1 devices that utilize soft reset back to game menu. I can't remember which review said this, but it was AFTER they reviewed the DS-Link...which of course has had this feature from the start.

Not to knock their reviews (I think they are the best reviews of these devices on the net), but they can make mistakes. Or, maybe not. Perhaps download play only works on flashed NDS units with the DS-Link. Could be, as every DS I come across (and my own units) are of course flashed.

That being said, if you want download play 100% so badly, why not flash? It would certainly be cheaper than paying the rediculous DS-X pricetag!

EDIT: I see in your sig that you do have it flashed. Maybe you should flash your friends DS units too I say flash em all!!

I've flashed so many of these units, I have people coming by all of the time asking me to do it...

Yea I know, I've flashed so many of them, like 15 now...  But they don't trust me, they treat their DS Lite like its their baby...

Heh, if you bridgde that thingy indicated in the picture, it'll turn your R4 DS into an M3 Simply. If you remove it on an M3 Simply it'll become an R4 DS. More info here.
