Are the R4 and M3 from the same company?

Yes! The two names allow the company to branch out.

Who finds it strange that these two are allegedly the same cart? :?:

Look at another similarity.  Both names are made by a single letter followed by a single number.  If they were two different companies, I would think one company would sue the other.  Most likely M3 would sue R4 because it has been in existence longer.

Second, both have exactly the same functions.  If you look at Sinkhead's wonderful reviews, 8)

R4 >http://romnet.co.uk/node/74

M3>http://romnet.co.uk/node/79

this is quite evident.

I believe this is just a gimmick of making $$$.  Who agrees?

And if you look at websites selling both, the M3 Simply is more expensive than the R4.
M3 Simply
Onyx Black DS lite
1 GB Japanese Kingston microSD

I'm getting my M3 soon, I've already gotten my R4. When the M3 arrives, I'll crack it open along with the R4 to check if this is really authentic.
Also, they're not reviews, just info pages
I think they probably are the same, but I don't think it's the same company. They probably just come out of the same factory.

LOL does it really matter?  If it it a war between these two carts, I will pick the M3.  Its like 2 companies making the same flashlight, so what?

sneef

i dont think they will sue each other.. that's hilarious.. "you stole my design/trademark for my piracy-riddled company!"

besides, china is not lawsuit-happy like the west.

ambitious21

they have the same package too!
well i mean that cart holder thing..
and the cart looks identical.

Em... they look a little different, guys... There's an extra chip on the R4.

Or perhaps it'll be responsible for the possible future fact that it'll have no/much less slowdown with games than competing clot-1 cards, who knows?  :)

R4, M3, G6, they're all cards with a single letter followed by a single digit. Can't wait till the F9 comes out.
Setup: Onyx DS Lite, CycloDS + Kingston 8GB MicroSDHC; Camo GBA Micro, EZIV + Kingston 2GB MicroSD

Lol. Thats a good one. But seriously, there is an obvious trend here... Perhaps they are after all, made by the same company?

sinkhead

My R4 had a black cap thing over the main chip... I'll find the picture again

Here's my R4's PCB

Hmm... is it just a matter of time before the D2 and P5 arrive?  ^^

Hi

You don't have to open the carts to find out if they are Identical. Just try interchanging the firmware.
