If they're the same, can you flash R4 firmware onto the M3 and vise versa? If not, why? I imagine that it's something like not being able to flash English firmware on a Chinese Super Card, but I also imagine that you can tell that by cracking open the carts.

Anybody know or can test it? I don't know if there's M3 firmware out yet, but I'd like to see what happens.

Some one on some forum (I think it was NDSBBS) has made a crack to install M3 firmware on an R4, apparently it's quite simple to do!

the fact that they can hack the m3 firmware to the r4 is reassuring if the r4 team ever goes under however as for the time being i think r4 is doing a great job weeding out the trouble roms with firmware updates.
