Well, tomorrow I will be getting my first Nintendo DS and a "bootleg" device. I was lenient to getting the M3 Simply since it's pretty cheap compared to SC DS and at realhotstuff its the same price as the R4. I was wondering whether I'm making the right decision or not. I've heard from my friend stuff about .dat files rather than .sav files for saving and it sorta got me worried. I wanna know if I'm making a good decision which will leave me satisfied and live up to my gaming needs.. i.e. (I want a lot of games to work, which I will download.)

Apparently the M3 is the same as the R4 which is the most positive cart I've seen in the slot-1 market. We've just not heard alot about the M3, but I imagine that it's the same.

You can convert .dat to .sav (or .sav to .dat) files through the M3 game manager, so it's no problem if you ever want to use your saves with a different device. There is no setback I've seen to the .dat format and I believe that the size is smaller.

I told you that in your other thread. You should have just posted your other question there. Well, doesn't matter now. :)

EDIT: I just reread your question, and I'd like to stress that you can't go wrong with an M3. In my opinion it was the best slot-2, not to put down the Super Card. I use my Super Card for.... other stuff. Some homebrew only runs on SC, so I still use it sometimes. SC Rumble on the other hand I use more.

Well I've gotten off-topic here. I'd also like to stress that M3 are known for being liars, so don't take their word for it. Read a review. Wether they're liars or not though, I still think that they have the best cart.

Yea I think the R4 is a good choice.  It is nice and cheap and the review of it in GBAtemp makes me want to buy it really bad.

SO far the only thing i don't quite like about the R4 is the GUI...and even then, its just simplified.  Hopefully they will revamp/overhaul the GUI not that the card has been released :)

Hmm... so I guess imma give my friend $45 to get me an M3 Simply and $28 for the microSD tomorrow. I've seen the R4, it looks great and I've seen how the M3 and R4 are the same freakin thing. So yea, I'm basically getting an R4.

*EDIT* I can't remember what site I saw, I think it was modchipstore.com but it said that R4 and M3 were from the same factory, so yea.. it is the same thing, just a different label, and the M3 i'm getting is the same price as the R4.

Yea its the same thing ALMOST, just 1 chip and 1 glob of solder difference in the pictures.  The R4 is slightly cheaper I think.  The good news is, apparently you can run M3 firmware on R4 with a hack.

Seriously?! Could you give me a link to that hack? *holds breath*
