SCDS1 won't start up alot of the time

OK, I am playing a game and then turn off my ds and turn on shortly after (or after a few min or like 30 sec) it often goes to the original DS boot menu and does not see the SCDS1. The only way to possibly get back working is to remove and then remove the media and then reinsert and only sometimes that works.

Does anyone with a SCDS1 have this problem also?

I am using it on a 2 month old dslite that is not flashed with an sandisk ultra II 1g (which should not matter as it still does the same with an adata 512) both formatted FAT16. Using the latest official Supercard software. Reformatted again, no luck.

Does this sound like a problem (looking for opinions from those who have a SCDS1 card only)

UPDATE: now it won't boot up at all, and not in my daughters DSphat either. :(

this sometimes happens to me also but i dont have a slot 1 card i have supercard cf and i use the superkey with it and sometimes the ds can't see my superkey but i just take it out and oput it back in again and its fine

Hi

I have the same problem, except I HAD to buy my scdsone from a place that won't give me refunds. Grrr! Would it be possible for me to fix my scdsone myself?

The closest thing I've ever doe to a project like this is installing flashme on my nds, so I have pretty much no experiance.

But I'd be willing to try...

could it be done...

and how?

This has happen when I first got my supercard DS. It would not work. So I try pressing on the front at the bottom end where it kinda soft and you can hear a click if you press it (where the metal pin is). That how I got mine too work. I was also going to get it replace but I finger if the supercard DS have no hard shell like the M3 or R4. Maybe all supercard DS are the same.

What place won't exchange a defective unit? I would like to know as I would not want to buy from there myself. Then again, I only buy from RHS, and I know they are good with the exchanges :)

Buy from someone reputable the next time around. No refund given on a defective product is just rediculous. I would probably do a chargeback in that scenario.

Mine was from RHS. They were great about offering an exchange, and would like to say that the scds1 issue has nothing to do with RHS and its handling and service.

Now i look forward to a working one again!.

i had the exact same problem.  Unfortunately, I ordered my first one directly from hopebuy.  They offered an exchange, but now, 3 weeks after sending it via registered air mail (which cost me 14 bucks), they still claim they never received it.  :(  I'm out 60+ bucks (due to shipping).

i'm sticking with RHS, even if they don't get the product out on release date...

sneef, speed isn't always the best, unfortunately. I would rather purchase from a reputable source, with good cust service, and pay even a little more, if that meant buyer protection. Sorry to here about your loss ($60 bones).

Hi

I tried pushing on the front and bottom end. This doesn't seem to do anything. I heard a small sound but it was hardly a click and My nds still can't detect the card.

This way also work for me. Try holding it upside down so the back of the card is facing you. Then where you see the pin now hold it  from end to end where the pin are. Give it a little blend toward  you. I don't know if helps but it really work for me. :D

Hi

Hmmm... still not working.

How hard to you have to press? I'm pressing with most of my streangth, but I'm not that strong. If this is something that requires a lot of forcing I could ask my dad. But Of course, I don't want to press TO hard.

I get the feeling I'm doing something wrong.

Your giving me a lot of detail, but could you try to give me a bit more?

Could you, if possible, upload some pictures or, even better a video? (Only if you have the time, I hate asking people to do things like that, but it would be really helpful as I'd know for sure if I'm doing it right.

Perhaps, whatever needs to click into place is more out of place than it was on your cards. Perhaps if I opened the card up... I was sort of expecting I'd have to in order to fix it anyway. I'm a bit reluctant to do it, but if I don't attempt my card will be trash right???

Sorry, pushing or bending the card to make contact is NOT an ideal (or recommended) solution. If it does not work as intended...that is not working when you simply put it in like a normal DS card...well I would certainly call that a defective device. Something I would not tolerate, and something I would definitely refund. And Sneef, if it is registered mail shouldn't you be able to get a status of delivery? I would probably force a charge back personally...don't just accept losing your money my friend.

No need to be sorry. I mean, if it works for you..well that's good. All I am saying is that if that is the way you have to get it to work...well it just isn't right. Certainly not what you paid for. It's like if I had to hold up on my DVD burner tray to allow it to read discs or something.
