SNEmul on SCDS(one)

Yay me! Well, not really me at all, but it took me a while to figure out how to run SNES games using the new SuperCard DS(one), as most homebrew won't work with it right now until they update using dldi. There was another thread on here, which linked to a guy who modified the source to SNEmul to use dldi, then I just patched it to work on the SCDS, so now here it is (it's the attachment).

So, it doesn't have sound, but it's still works fine otherwise. Enjoy!

-- EDIT: Opps, didn't attach anything :P

Great news! How is it working for you?

Nice to see people catching on with dldi patching. Get used to it! :)

3 questions:
Is that attachment the patched version?
Can you use any snes roms?
Is there a tutorial on this?

OK, guess I should clarify! Yes, the attachment is the patched version, and I use that exact one on my SCDS. There isn't really any tutorial, you just put the file anywhere on your card, and you will be able to play games that are on a SNES directory in the root of your card. It will work with all games that are compatible with SNEmul, just none of them have sound. Apparently, the guy who made SNEmul is looking over the newest code (v0.3a) and adding dldi support. I'll update this whenever I can get my hands on the newest version.

is this the best SNES emu for DS, the last one Ive used involved generating a .nds for each rom (could be snesds can't be sure though)

dai_uk, you're probably talking about SnezziDS, which only works on carts with GBA compatibility.  I consider SnezziDS to be the best, although each of the three (SNES DS, SneziDS, SNEmulDS) has their advantages and disadvantages.  The version of SNEmulDS posted here is an older version, but it's the only one with sourcecode available.  It's a bit slow and has graphical issues, but it's the only one that allows for straight reading of pure .smc files from the card.  The others, like you said, require you to make a .ds.gba or .nds compilation with the roms included inside.  I believe there's actually a version of SNES DS that allows for straight reading of .smc cards, but it only works on one or two devices.

EDIT:  w00t!  While I was typing this, archeide released SNEmulDS v0.3 with full DLDI support.  I haven't tested it myself yet though.  Get it at http://snemul.free.fr/ds/SNEmulDSv03.zip

Here is the latest version for the supercard ds(one) (and nearly all others).

Enjoy!

dantheman THANK YOU!  NOT because of the patch BUT because of using proper punctuation, such as periods and having minimal spelling errors.  Reading that post was entirely pointless for me because I don't have SCDS, however just seeing a post with proper punctuation made it worthwhile.  So thank you dantheman, thank you.

The very funny thing about this is that you claim to have read the entire post, although it does not cater to the SCDS as you state, but to a SNES emulator and the update to DLDI. Wow...

zektor, the entire topic is about making SNEmulDS work on a SC DS, which is most likely what Kudaku is referring to.  In any case, thank you I guess.  I merely try to prevent the Internet from butchering my English skills, heh.

vitius

would it be possible to get PicoDriveDS (genesis emulator) working on SCDS?

I'm still not familiar with the DLDI patching.

EDIT: thanks for the snes emulator, works great, sound works but has graphical glitches.

EDIT2: Gripen, thanks for picodrive.

Gripen40k

Yep, there is also a picodrive for SCDS, recompiled with dldi. Not sure if it's the newest version, but I did get it to work.

True, it's not about the SCDS but about a SNES emulator, however the main point was about the SCDS.  meh

picodrive did not work at ALL for me dual white screens.
and SNEmul ran very few roms, "flashy screens" and lots of bugs.
