Does anybody of a good idea or guess of when the  M3 Real will come out and about how much it will cost?

Thanx!  8)

Umm thats not a real cart I don't think. I remember somone making a comment about M3 working on there "real" slot 1 design but then using the R4 design instead, but when they said "real" they didn't mean that was a name of an M3 cart thats coming out, lol.

i could have sworn that I read an announcement about a follow-up to m3 DS simply, which had some GBA functionality or something.

hmm..

anyway, i finally got my m3 DS simply today, after 2 weeks via priority mail (USPS... what a joke).  and it rocks!

2 weeks? That is crazy...priority mail never takes more than three days for me from anywhere in the USA. Good to hear you are impressed with the Simply tho. I may pick up one of these or an R4 soon.

I thought the "announcement" said that they were making a card with all the features of the M3 Perfect, and everyone just assumed it meant GBA support.

sneef

from what i remember, someone posted a quote from gbalpha stating that there was GBA file support.  This may have been a bad translation, since gbalpha is chinese.  In any case, I'm happy with the "simply".  I suppose if the m3 perfect features are included it would mean cheat support, and possibly multiple save slots...

zektor

Well, GBA support IS possible with a ram pack. I would imagine that with a ram pack containing fast memory, GBA playback would be perfect. The slot1 device would simply load the rom into the pack and then send some sort of init string to the slot2 to execute the game. It is more than possible, and I would guess the route that they would take as opposed to attempting to write an emulator to do this. On the other hand however, in a general sense GBA playback does not seem to important nowadays. I would venture to guess that all GBA playback devices (M3 SD, Supercard Lite..etc) will be phased out within a year...

The future is going to be straight up slot1 NDS playback. And I betcha the next NDS incarnation will not even include a GBA slot whatsoever. Not the way I want it of course (I use GBA mode ALOT for FLubba's awesome emulators and some other things), and of course none of what I am saying is true fact (yet), but when it does happen don't forget this post :)

Wouldn't it be easier just to have a slot 1 card and a slot 2 card instead of the memory pack?  Just have them buy both M3 Lite and "M3 Real".

That's what Zektor meant, to use a slot2 flashcart as a RAM expansion pack, like we do with Opera. And I guess he also meant, by saying "fast memory", that any card from the SuperCard brand won't work with this method...
