What is SuperCard DS ONE?
SuperCard DS ONE is a perfect product. It support Clean ROM directly, and it also support hardware save directly, the player just need to Drag and Drop the Clean ROM to TFlash/MicroSD card to play. If there is a new game come out, player do not need to upgrade the firmware (OS) of SuperCard DS ONE, the new game can also be supported, that mean SuperCard DS ONE support game IN THE FEATURE. But the 100% Clean ROM support function need a need a high speed TFlash/MicroSD to support it. Player hard to find a High Speed TFlash/MicroSD in the market at this moment and most of the player has a low speed TFlash/MicroSD card, SuperCard DS ONE can only support 80% game with a LOW speed flash memory card. What should they do?
Fortunately, SuperCard DS ONE has another function---Patch Mode: In the Patch Mode, SuperCard DS ONE OS converting the Clean ROM from TFlash/MicroSD when loading the it each time. That mean REAL TIME converting.
The Advantage of Patch Mode:
1. Support low speed flash memory card.
2. Support RESET function.
The disadvantage of Patch Mode:
1. Can not support 100% game, but almost close to 100%
2. Can not support game IN THE FEATURE, need new SuperCard DS ONE to Support.

So, Players have two choices:
1. Want to support 100% Clean ROM and support game IN THE FEATURE: SuperCard DS ONE Clean ROM mode + High Speed Flash memory card.
2. Only have a low speed flash memory card: SuperCard DS ONE Patch Mode. Can support game almost close to 100%, but need to upgrade the firmware (OS) frequently to support feature games.

What is R4?
R4 is also a good product, even it can not support Clean ROM directly, but it works the SAME as SuperCard DS ONE Patch Mode. So, even it can not support 100% game, but it almost clost to 100% game support. Player need to upgrade the firmware of R4 frequently when new game comming out.

That's why SuperCard DS ONE price higher than R4, when high speed flash memory card become generally used, the advantage of SuperCard DS ONE will clearly appear.

This is interesting, and not doubting you personally, but find it hard to believe SC would push another brand. Also the writing seems way too clear compared to his previous writings.

Is this mean every games R4 loaded have been patch by itself,as same as SCDS Enable Patch function?

wait, so when you put a clean rom on SCDS and use the patching on the SCDS it is just a tmperary patching right?
It patches it when it loads the rom each time.
So you could take the rom off of the micro sd card and use it for another cart as a clean rom? or you could choose to use the patching sometimes and just run it clean sometimes without having to recopy the clean rom onto the micro sd card.

ALL current SLOT 1 carts patch the roms once they are run which is misleading when they "QUOTE" they use "CLEAN ROMS".

Yes its true that you dont need patching software, BUT they do patch every rom on the fly so to speak.

Therefore, you cant take someone elses rom from one cart to another as they WILL be patched by that cart.

Are you saying the first time you run it it modifies the rom - that's silly whats the point of clean rom support then ?

A swing and a miss.

They do NOT patch the rom. The rom is still a clean rom if you take it off the card. At least in the case of the R4 and M3Simply, they patch the memory addresses in RAM, never touching the original rom itself. That's what that "loading" is at the start every time you boot up a game.

I would assume SCDS works in the same way, but I don't have one so I can't be absolutely certain.

If you aren't 100% sure of your information, please don't pass it around as fact before you test it yourself.

SCDS has a new option that actually patches the ROM from the menu, but it's a one-time patch, and koji is right, other carts are not altering clean roms on the fly. They are only patching in RAM for correct memory address calls.

This is bullshit. There is no way in hell he would recommend you get another product until SCDS can increase production. I just don't believe it. The only way this is true is that Romman is also on the R4 team too. These people releasing all these different carts wanting us to believe that there is legitimate competition between rival companies, when in actuality, all the money is going to the same place.

That is why you cannot find it on any other sites (at least i could not). This would be major news stating that you are saying you cannot support/supply your own product! I agree with 754boy, BS!

Some how Romman is link to the Gbalpha team. R4 is from Gbalpha team so Romman is indirectly link to R4. He is very close to gbalphs team all of us know that superkey = Passacrd 3. why push for r4? maybe if they sell M3 need to pay a loyalty fee to M3 team. M3 team should be the creator of M3 Slot 2. As for Slot 1 card like M3 DSS , R4 , SC DS Etc... they just brought the design. Since the design is from 3rd company gbalpha can also buy the design and has it own R4 brand without need to pay M3 team loyalty fee.

I believe what kenlee is saying is basically true. My interpretation . . .

I think Romman is politely trying to tell us that Supercard DS (One) is a superior product because of its "perfect" design and its support for games "IN THE FUTURE" without needing frequent firmware updates. He states that high speed microSD/TF is required for 100% compatibility with clean ROMs. He points out that people using slow microSD/TF media will be required to use updated patch software for use with some problem games. Romman is trying to explain that SCDS1 fully emulates slot 1 games and is future proof with configuration options directly inside the OS. He is also suggesting that R4 is a fine product but will require periodic firmware updates to maintain 100% compatibility. Finally, Romman is stating that SCDS1 is currently in limited quantities so R4 is a good alternative (available at Romman's HopeBuy.com). :wink:
