Ok, all together now: Kingston is not a manufacturer, they are a distributor.  You can get 100 good kingston chips and then 100 bad ones.  You cannot say DHJ works good or bad on "Kingston", this would make you an idiot.  It's like saying, "I got a Wal-Mart MicroSD, it works AWESOME!  Everyone go to walmart and buy microSD cards!"

Who are the actual manufactures of decent memory cards? Also anyone know where they can be purchased for a decent price as well?

Well if you want to get all technical about it, let me rephrase that.

How is Tony Hawk Downhill Jam on DSLink with a Kingston 1gb MicroSD, model #SD-C01G?  I am asking because I don't know where Tony Hawk DHJ is supposed to lag...

Altor

Uh... reliable... hm...

The Kingston C01G is the Japan model, and is basically the fastest, cheapest card out there.  It is simply a rebranded Toshiba microSD, from what I've read.  You're not likely to have any problems with it.  The Kingston Taiwan model is unworthy of existence.

PNY is universally regarded as one of the fastest, most reliable manufacturers.

Sandisks are slow (the Ultra-II variety is somewhat faster, but still no PNY) but Sandisk is a very well-known, reliable, industry-leading name.

Others, such as Kingmax, PQI, etc... I don't think anyone's done comprehensive testing on those.  It's possible they're just rebranded.

So what is the best card to use?

PoR is also the only game I'm having trouble with. I just got my R4 and 512 Sandisk microsd today. And I've been playing various game all day long, and PoR is the only one giving me trouble.

So, Zektor seems to be very confident in saying that the card he posted, is running PoR flawlessly. So, since it's running well in the Link, it should perform just as well in the R4?
Setup:
White Lite
Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

PharaohsVizier

Yes that is true, the Kingston 1gb Japan works flawlessly on the R4 as well.  Only Tony Hawk's DHJ doesn't run at full speed for the R4.  I have yet to test it on my DSLink, its too full with games.

Really? So why doesn't that game run at full speed? I don't think I'll ever play it, it' just kind of weird.

Ok, I guess I'll try to find me a 1Gb Kingston. But, is there any sites, that sell only the Japanese ones, or that'll guarantee you'll get one of them?

I've been looking around, and I can't find any sites like that.
