Best MAME emulator for PC is MAME....or am I missing the point of your question as I'm not sure what you mean?

If your looking for a DS version try MarcaDS

Joey Ravn

He meant "best" because there are several versions (MAME, MAME32, MAME32+, one that only emulates NeoGeo, etc.).
I always use MAME32, it's simple to use and emulates nearly everything perfectly, including CPS and NeoGeo. But that's just personal preference.

No, because its not working. Therefore it doesnt matter what type of MAME you use be it MAME32 or the plain vanilla win32 MAME.EXE or even Pentium 4/64 bit optimised builds.

If you want to play MODEL 2 games try El Semi's MODEL 2 emulator found here: http://nebula.emulatronia.com/downloadgw.php?get=m2emulator.zip

I just use plain old MAME32. I tried some of the other hacks and optimized versions, and while they mostly did optimize what they said they would, they caused weird compatibility and stability problems as well.

I bought a mame disc a few years ago.  It was back at version .80.  It was   called mame32uber or hyperfighting addition or something.  The selling point was that it had games within the last 2 years that the other mames would not publish.

I think at some point after that the people making mame started messing with the games because they were not perfect translations and this broke a bunch of games, high scoring etc. and some dude wrote an article called "mame over" about it that got some press.

I can't remember at what version this happened though.  Anybody know?

No as its not part of MODEL 2A, I believe Daytona USA is a different MODEL 2 version and therefore currently doesnt work either under MAME or El Semi's emu.

I'm not too in the know with all these different versions of MAME but I can tell you the best version for online play via Kailllera; MAME32k 0.64. Before I got on Kaillera with it everyone was using laggy ol .67, but soon after everyone saw how good my hosting powess was it wasnt long before nearly the whole community started using .64 8)

BTW, You wanna play Daytona USA then play it on the Sega Saturn. If you don't have a Sega Saturn... Tsk Tsk :|

Is Dragon Force any good? I was going to get it but never got around to buying it, wish I did cause that game is worth up-wards of 60 quid now :(

Did you ever have Guardian Heroes? I bet if you had that game you wouldn't have got rid of your Saturn
