No matter what I do for both, they do not work. I just get white screens :(

I renamed them and everything, but it never seems to work.

Nearly all of my songs are made with Fruity Loops, except for one where I used Reason. I recommend looking at my ambient stuff, and staying away from old songs, which are pretty crappy.

For NES DS, you could simply try downloading it from the Homebrew Database when using DSOrganize.  I used it and it works fine on my Supercard miniSD.  Just launch it and then it will give you a file browser that you can select the location of your NES games from.

For SNES DS, do not use make_nds.bat.  Just run snesds.exe and select a known verifyable rom, like Super Mario World.  Also make sure that you have replaced the default "snesds.bin" file with the 11-27 version of it, and make sure you download the latest SuperDAT from http://urashima.cydonianknight.com/snesadvance.dat and place it in the same folder.  Try compiling it with just one game to begin with and see if it works.

Neat, seems to work perfectly :D

Thanks for the help. Btw: is saving possible on the nesDS? (or the snesDS for that matter).

Saving should work with NES DS.  After saving in-game, try tapping the touch-screen to open the NES DS menu.  One of the tabs has a Save SRAM button you should use.  You could also use savestates.

For SNES DS, I think you'll have to use the QPC method of saving.

If you've got a regular SC Lite and not the Rumble version, also check out SnezziDS.  It's a very capable SNES emulator, and it has partial HDMA support, which lets games like Chrono Trigger run correctly without screwed up background scrolling.

Another option is SNEmulDS, although compatibility is relatively low and it isn't fullspeed.

Just tried SnezziDS. I got the sound version. When I started it, it displayed a number, and then cycles next to it. At around 3600 cycles it froze up.

Downloaded from there.

Also, I forgot to mention, nes saving seems to work, but only it's not a permanent save (I think it goes on the SRAM or something). Thanks for the help so far btw.  :)

If your saves aren't being kept, then try using the QPC method of saving (Google for instructions).  This applies to SnezziDS as well, which requires QPC saving for Supercards.

You got SnezziDS from the right place.  Just make sure you're using v0.28a.  To get it to run, simply drag and drop your SNES rom onto snezzi.exe, which will combine your rom + the snezzi.nds emulator core to produce an SNESGAME.smc.nds file that should run directly on your Supercard.  Once in-play, press L+R+Select+Up several times until the background graphics appear in the correct order.  This button combo cycles through various known "good" combinations.  Alternatively, you can press L+R+Start to get to the SnezziDS config menu, where you can manually change some settings.

brujagio

I've tried QPC saving, didn't work. Perhaps I have a wrong version of NESDS?

That's the one I got, anyways, I'm off to bed. Once again thanks for all the help, I'll be back on tomorrow, and hopefully I can fix the problem.

( snezzi works great btw :D )

I remember the official builds of NES DS had some saving issues (not sure if it was actual saving or savestates).  Use emu_kidd's WIP versions instead.  I don't have a link handy, sorry.  Like I said, I just launched DSOrganize, pressed the Next button, hit the "homebrew database" text at the bottom of the screen, let it connect, and and downloaded NES DS that way.  Saving works fine for me on my SC miniSD and I don't have to use QPC saving for it.

hmm, well I just downloaded NESDS WIP from this link.

I don't have DSOrganize, nor do I have a router compatible with my DS, so unfortunately I can't go online with it.

As for saving: did you have to make your own save file for each game, or just the nesDS.nds file?

BTW, QPC saving did not work. When I saved state, then clicked save on SDRAM it said Ok. I did the whole turning on and off, then when I clicked on the save for the nes game it asked if I wanted to load, not save. Does the nesDS.nds have to be in the same folder as the roms?

Try using this nesDS.nds file instead.  It's the one I downloaded from the homebrew database.

As for the QPC method not saving, see my post at http://scdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8844 for an explanation and possible workaround.

brujagio

Still not working  :(  I used your file that you sent, and the dumpSRAM. It didn't change anything. Does it matter if the emulator is in a completely different than the rom?

Well... apparently not. Just tried it out, and it was a failure.

Perhaps you have the newer version of the SC Lite that has issues with FAT-enabled homebrew.  In this case, it might be better to create your own NES DS compilations, making sure to make each comilation less than 3 MB in size.  I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a shot.
