It looks interesting, but again I'll still wait for the time being. Also I'm a little sad it doesn't allow for the playing of imports. I'll dream of the day when there is a new freeloader I guess for the time being.

That said, if in a month or two these things still haven't been detected, I'll give it a serious thought. You can bet if this chip works as well as they're saying, nintendo will already be working on a hardware revision to get around it.

Shame I can't solder to save myself, I await the day someone brings out a tube of conductive adhesive for stuff like this   I would have liked Region Free as well but I don't mind too much.

Honestly I don't think this would be a hard thing to solder in the least. You're literally just putting it in place and melting a little glob into the holes on the chip. Not like you have to solder tiny wires to an impossibly small section of a pin connector on a chip.

It may be just an ad, but it at least shows some real-life usage in that the people actually went and tested several things to see if they worked.  So the basic idea that we now know about this is:
1.  very small in size
2.  can run Wii and GCN backups
3.  can run GCN homebrew but not Wii homebrew (if there is any yet)
4.  can run GCN imports but not Wii ones

So aside from running Wii backups, it seems to be more tailored for the GCN side of things.

EDIT:  and somehow 3 posts managed to slip in before I hit submit, hehe

Do you guys remember the CycloDS?  The supercard ripoffs that were the exact same even donw to the patcher?

Looks interesting,

Not sure I see the desperate Need for Wii Homebrew, emulators I have on my Xbox and XBMC...

Shame about imports but again I can see why as this is another drive hack - of course if that makes it undetectable for online play then all the better :-)

Who the heck are Team Cyclops? Iv'e never heard of them at all Until now.

So apparently they made a, what sounds to be pretty decent by they're own description, Lite and Mini flash carts for the DS. They're even being sold on Divineo for a good price. But no one else has ever said anything about them around here.

And now Team Cyclops is hacking the Wii too, and being one of the firsts...

The website states it's fully upgradable: http://www.teamcyclops.com/
Plus it seems there are plenty of resellers.

So if their Wii Hacks turms out to be pretty decent, I suppose I might have to purchase one of their DS carts as well, hope it comes in black.

Considering that the CycloDS mini and lite carts are the exact same things as Supercards, I wouldn't trust them too much.  Seriously, the features are the same, the hardware is the same, the patcher is the same, and the only differences lie in the logos and other graphics.

this has already been discussed.  They are just rebranding the hardware.  they are not copying it.  (cycloDS, not cyclowiz)

We just updated the english installation manual with a more detailed procedure for quicksolder in order to avoid any alignment problem. Manuals in Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Swedish were also added to the download section.

Regarding CycloWiz upgrade feature, we'll say it once again, CycloWiz is fully upgradable via DVD. While an official upgrade is not ready yet, we'll demonstrate the feature in the next few days, as it seems there is a demand for it.

Our R&D team is working hard on the D2B chipset, we'll have some news about it later today or tommorrow, so stay tuned!
