I read a review of DS one at gbatemp and it seems thats scds had a battery in it
I am just wonderin if its rechargeable?
Does it run out?
What happens if it does?

sonicwind

From what i read its just there to store a save to the next boot up.  I would assume playing your ds would charge the battery and I guess you'd just have to use hybrid mode then unless your in the 30 day period and can return for a replacement.

I'd guess that the battery gets charged while the DS is running

its a relieve if thats so which means even if it runs out it wont have much an impact coz through scdsone inbuild patcher we can set it to save directly to microsd

I don't ever recall that fact, but that is highly possible.

When is a battery not a battery ? When it's a capacitor !

Check out the third photo of the opened supercard at the GBAtemp review of the supercard DS one.

The "battery" has the following marking :- 3.3v 0.22F.
That means it is actually a 0.22 Farad capacitor. So, being such a large value for a capacitor, it acts like a battery. But unlike a normal battery, it will recharge every time you use the supercard. So, you should never have to replace it. BUT, if you left the supercard out for a few months, the cap may discharge fully and you may lose the last savegame. That timegrame is a guesstimate.

I work in electronics, so I have seen these before. They are usually known as "supercaps".

See, you learn something new every day :D
