EZTEAM announced that they will be releasing a 3 in 1 slot 2 expansion card for use with EZ5. It provides 256Mbit NorFLASH for GBA functions, ram expansion(for Opera and homebrew), and rumble in a single package. The rumble has adjustable strength and a development library will be provided. Black, lite sized. Price and release date not announced yet.

Official Chinese post

They could still cram more functions into it, like a motion sensor...

Wow that is awesome, I hope R4 or DSLink could utilize this.  :)

As long as the rumble will operate normally with games that officially support it, it'll be all good then.

If it's high-quality RAM that runs GBA games at fullspeed like an EZ-flash or G6, I'll probably get one. Though 32MB is pretty low.
Setup: Onyx DS Lite, CycloDS + Kingston 8GB MicroSDHC; Camo GBA Micro, EZIV + Kingston 2GB MicroSD

It's being made by the EZ-Flash Team so i'm sure they'll have the same quality ram. I trust em'.

I think 32MB (megabyte not megabit) is a pretty good size considering GBA ROM files themselves will be stored on the slot 1 microSD and then loaded into the RAM before executing. I'm not sure but I think the largest GBA ROMs are only 128M = 16MB.

The GBA can address a maximum of 32 MB, so the largest GBA binary you will find is 32 MB (with the possible exception of the latest official version of Pogoshell on the Xrom flash cart).  For instance, the GBA Video carts, where 2 episodes of a cartoon were stored on a single cart, used the full 32 MB.  That's why the Supercard and M3 and other slot-2 devices don't offer more RAM; as the RAM is there fore GBA compatibility, offering more than 32 MB would be silly.

popinadam

Is it all just built in ram or will it also have expandable memory via microsd or anything?

Why get all excited if you don't have an EZV? I'm pretty sure it'll never work with other slot-1 cards..

PharaohsVizier

I don't think so, EZ Flash has never really went against other carts (aka blocking other carts with the passme).  I just hope that my DSLink or R4 has a company that chooses to abuse their product.  :)

Hi

I hope it's cheap and works with scds. I want something that will rumble and allow opera to be run.

PharaohsVizier

It is definitely a great idea.  I just hope it'll work with other carts, and I'm sure there will be a way to get one.  :)
