Quote from: "dai_uk"Sorry I've missed something here, I've not been following Wii modding to seriously as I can't afford one yet but are you saying some Wii's aren't compatible with some mods- which is why you're checking chips (on dvd drive I guess)

Wii scene seems to be moving really quick guess that cube similarity helped !

Last week, it was discovered that the first rev of mods did not work with a newer drive chip labeled D2B.  Very quickly, updated versions of the mods became available to overcome this.  Since Wiinja is not upgradeable, they've offered free replacements that will work with the D2B chip.

I've got a cyclowiz, and so far, the only things that I've tried that haven't worked 100% is tony hawk, sound studders when tony hawk talks and intro music on super swing golf shutterd a little, but both games work fine.  I've tried a bunch of wii games, and dozens of gc games, all the gc games worked perfectly.  I even tried one Jap wii game, and it worked.

the stuttering sounds like a problem with the DVD media you're using to burn the games to.  what brand are you using, and is it + or - R?

[edit] oh, and what burner are you using? [/edit]

Some Magnavox +R, written on a hp laptop drive at 8x. ;-)   I'm sure if I put them on -R they would do better.    All my gc discs are -r and they play perfect, even ones that shuttered like mad on the gc.

hehe..  maybe I'm overly careful, but I always stick with Pioneer or NEC burners, and usually Ritek media.. sometimes TDK depending on the batch (some were really good, some were not).. I use Verbatim for dual layer (the ones that are made in singapore)...

I would do a test on your burner to check the PI/PO measurements..

I have several nec burners, was just being lazy and using the one on my laptop while watching tv, and using blanks my wifes work bought. ;-)
