They might not take my ds.  It looks like it has been tampered with.  Its a screw on top of the slot 1 missing, the volume switch came off and I don't know what happened to it and the power switch is loose.  I wish they could just swap it but i don't want them to take it and tell me to pay $50 for a new ds.  I'd rather do that though.

If you don't mind being dishonest, you can put the nds in a box, bring it to walmart, and tell them that you bought it in it's current condition. They will take it, just like that, and give you a new one.

I've never done this, only heard of people doing it. It's dishonest. It's your choice. Not going to comment on whether it's a good or a bad thing to do. There's two sides to every situation...

That sounds plausible.  I just wouldn't want to be the person buying that ds.

Okay I called Nintendo today and I told them that I let someone borrow my ds lite and it came back broken, won't power on, and the power switch seems loose.  I gave them the serial number and they said it doesn't matter.  They told me they can't repair damaged ds's for free so he said since Im in warranty I have to pay $25 and he said something about the total coming up $50.  I'll just go with this and wait till I get money so I can schedule a replacement.  Hopefully they don't open it up and check it and try to fix it because it look obviously like someone tampered with it.
