Hi

Fanboys, it's time for a debate over the best card.

Got the idea from the name of the thread. "the great debate." hope the author the the thread doesn't mind. But that thread was more of a conversation/question. THIS is a debate.

Simply post to enter the debate. I won't comment on my opinions, however, I will ask questions to the debators.

You may argue over any card that can run nds roms.

and of course, the rules of the forum are also rules of the debate.

Have fun everyone. This thread is intended NOT TO MAKE PEOPLE UPSET OR TO HURT ANYONES FEELINGS but to have fun debating and perhaps to be helpful to people reading this thread.

I think the Ace of Spades is the best card out there, it even has it's own theme song.

Hi

Now tell me, Zygarth, what is the rom capibility of the ace of spades?

While I appreciate the disclaimers I don't think this will end well.  Different flashcarts are good for different purposes.  If anyone wants to know what's best for them, please start a new thread with your criteria and our forum will help you.

Well instead of complaining about the thread, I'm going to contribute to it.

I personally think in terms of "best" card, the DSLink wins.  It runs everything (except some new roms that will get patched) perfectly.  With a Kingston 1gb MicroSD (Japan), it will run everything full speed.  The menu is very nice, and really fast to navigate through, apparently it is skinnable as well.  The patcher is extremely easy and fast to use, and trims roms as well.  Another good thing about the DSLink is the rock solid build quality, it feels even more durable than a real NDS cart, definitely better than carts like R4, EZV and so on.
The bad thing about the cart is that it does not have passme function built in, and it still needs to be patched.  However, I like the patcher, it trims roms and it works fast.  The passme is a real negative, which is probably going to turn away tons of sales.  However, I don't think there is enough credit given to this card, it was the first slot 1 card to support removable media, and it is still a strong competitor now.  Another unfair remark is the fact that GBATemp review says it does not have very good homebrew support, however it now works with DLDI, which obviously is good enough for the R4 and other slot 1 carts.

Well to me, no one card is better than another simply because they all do the same shit. Some just get more support and updates than the others.

Yeah, but Chuck Norris and David Hasselhoff both have a SCDS1.

If you listen closely to the trial, it was Howard K. Sterns (well he says so). I think it the R4 belonged to Larry Birkhead.

Err... what are you reffering to? it sounds interesting.

Back to the debate, PharaohsVizier, aside from durability, what features do you think the dslink has over other cards if any?

What? XD M3 is cool. OK I'm German, I admit... by the way I guarantee you that Manson, Jack, the Wests and friends (Bundy, BTK, Zodiac, etc.) will all be switching to the NeoFlash when it comes out.

No one said that "card" means slot-1's though. Whatever... if that's the case I'm sure R4/M3 wins. I like the features better and support is great but SC always had better homebrew (can you even run anything on an M3?!).

Hi

Card does not mean slot 1. Geasonator, what do you think the best overall card is, slot-1 and slot-2?
