Hello, I just purchased a SuperCard SD Rumble, and I'm trying to get it to work, but so far, nothing is working right. I have the Supercard, and a Passcard, and a 1GB SD card. Apparently, you are supposed to put the .bin file for the firmware update on the card, and run it like a game, and it will update, but the bin file is not appearing in the menu for some reason. I tried putting some games on without updating the firmware, but nothing is working, I either get a white screen, or a white screen with a black screen right after it.

Please help, ASAP!

super cameraman, First off, welcome to scdev!

OK, make sure you are using the correct ugrade firmware, and i mean using the rumble versions, NOT the regular versions.

OK, first off make sure your sd card is formatted FAT (FAT16) not FAT32.

Secondly, you need put your SC in your ds and turn on while holding the L and R, this will test your card and you press A to scroll thru it. You need to check which version it is.

Post which version it is and let us know and we can guide you from there.

FYI,Here is the readme from the update. You may have to update step by step depending on your version.
QuoteUpdate(2007.11.07)
firmware 1.84 released
ALL SUPERCARD SLOT2 series
1.Fixed IDS/IDSL homebrew cannot be used by touching the touch screen
2.Copy the dldi.scp file to root directory of TF/SD card then it could be patched with DLDI.

Q:How to upgrade the firmware?
A:Download it and unzip it into root directory of TF/SD card;turn on ds and run it as run a game.Make sure it cannot be turned power off when upgading!

Q:My firmware is too old,may I upgrade it to the newest directly?
A:It is absolutely decided by the postfix name:
.BIN (FULL firmware,it is able to be upgraded to the newest directly)
.SCU (PATCHED firmware,it needs to be upgraded to the newer step by step;otherwise you will get two white screens.)

Q:Why does it appeare English ...... XXXX after being coped firmware files?
A:Because maybe you are using SC of English Version;firmware(Chinese version) could not be used with SC (English version).Up to now, there are different between SCL series and SC rumble series according to firmware in SC SLOT 2 series.SC (English version) must use firmware(English version);SC (Chinses version) should use Firmware(Chinese version).

It's not my SuperCard, actually. It's my friends, so I don't have it with me, but I'm almost 100% sure it said the firmware was 1.63.

The card is formatted to FAT, where do I get the firmware for the rumble? (Or I'll just Google it)

I myself have an EZ-Flash V. I sort of wish my friend had one too! No offense to you SuperCard fans!

EDIT: Actually, I think I've been trying the Rumble firmware the whole time. Why do you think the file isn't even coming up on the SuperCard's browser? I tried it with and without the Passkey.

you need RUMBLE firmware get it here :)

and also get the RUMBLE patcher 2.65 from the same place :)

Right, the Rumble firmware is an "upgrade.scu" file that goes on the root of the card.  After the update, the file can be deleted.  *.bin files are for non-Rumble Supercards.

Can the rumble go from 1.63 directly to 1.84?

This is why i ask because of the readme.txt

Q:My firmware is too old,may I upgrade it to the newest directly?

.SCU (PATCHED firmware,it needs to be upgraded to the newer step by step;otherwise you will get two white screens.)

By this statement he would need to go from 1.63 > 1.7 is .scu > 1.81 is .scu > 1.82 is .scu > 1.83 is .scu > 1.84 is .scu

Do i have that right? cause from the above text from SC readme it is, well at least that is how i read it.

To be honest I'm not sure anymore.  All I know is that non-Rumble Supercards had to be updated in order to prevent the built-in emulators from breaking, but 1.83 fixed that so you could go directly from 1.7 to 1.83/1.84 without any problems.  I'd say it's probably best to go step-by-step with the Rumble since the upgrade.scu files aren't full firmware files.  I don't have a Rumble though, so I don't know for sure.

Thanks for the help! I'm sort of surprised that I clicked on the wrong picture on the site... I mean, the right link had the picture of the exact SuperCard...

As for updating step by step... Where do I get each firmware file? Is it on the same page?

*Checks page*

It is, okay, great. I think that's all I need then right? That would explain the file not appearing, right? It needed to be the SCU, not the BIN.

Glad it worked out for you! Play on Playa! (sorry bad attempt at humor).

So did you do the step by step install of updates or just install the latest update only? Just for others that may have the same issues.

Super Cameraman

I haven't actually done it yet, it's my friends and he just left for vacation or something. But it'll probably work, so I'll try it when he gets back.

Okay, thanks. Should work, but can't really test it on my EZ-Flash if ya know what I mean.

Thanks for the help.
