Wiikey: Any negative effects?

Hi!

I'm pretty interested in getting myself a Wiikey. I just was wondering if there are any downsides to it?

For example, will I still be able to use all the online features? Or will Nintendo be able to tell i'm modded when i log onto the Wii Shop, or any others? It claims 'stealth' on the spec, what does that actually mean??? (and on another note about the spec, whats a D2B chipset???)
Will online gaming be affected (when it arrives)? I don't want to mod if it affects me playing Animal Crossing or whatever when it comes out!

Is there ANYTHING that will give me cause for concern regarding possible present or future problems? As I'd honestly rather wait, if anything bad could result from my modding!!!

Cheers for any help.

PS I live in the UK, and have a PAL Wii, that is still compatible with the Wiikey, right? its not specific to US/Jap Wiis, or anything?

The online features like the VC, Votes, Weather, News, and Opera all still work just fine.

Can Nintendo detect it? Who knows for sure but since it is a dvd drive mod it is not likely. People have been using a DvD drive mod on the XboX 360 for almost a year and XboX has yet to detect or ban people from XboX Live.

D2B is a version of a DVD drive controller chip on the Wii. You wont need to worry about this as the older Wii chips like Cyclowiz and Wiinja had problems and could not run on D2B chips but the Wiikey will work with it.

No one can say how this will affect online play in the future, most think it wont be a problem to play online but no one can say with 100% certainty.

I don't see a single draw back of the Wiikey so far. I love it. The install will be hard for a person with little or no soldering experience as the solder points are small.

Wiikey works on ALL versions of the Wii the same way, NTSC, PAL, D2B all work the same.

Thanks for the info!

What about things like the automatic updates? is it possible/likely that a firmware update could mess up the wiikey? or somehow prevent it or the Wii itself from functioning? I know this is all untested, and we can't know for sure, but any best guesses???

I've never soldered before in my life! I guess my precious Wii is a bad place to start, hopefully I'll find someone who can do it for me!

Well like I said:
