Don't import your chips from modchipstore.com

I always buy stuff online, a LOT of stuff. Several video cards, games, accessories, modchips and even consoles (Dreamcast, 3 x Xbox 360...).

As I live in Brazil, I have to ask the sellers to state low value on items so that I don't have problems with customs.

One of the only bad experiences I have had was very very recent:

I preordered a Wiikey from modchipstore.com, and the first thing that bothered me was that they did not offer normal cheap shipping methods, ONLY DHL Express (expensive). I was afraid I'd not find the Wiikey anytime soon from any other vendor so I placed my order anyway. I specifically asked them about stating low value upon shipping and they agreed. But today I had to pay US$ 20.00 worth of taxes (as if DHL expenses were not enough), because modchipstore failed to include ANY kind of receipt or declaration of product value, and customs just charged me whatever the fckers wanted.

Well at least I am really happy that the Wiikey is here!!! But I just wanted to leave a heads up for the (many) people that do not live in the US: import your wiikey or whatever from other places, or you risk a bad surprise upon delivery...

Now I am going to get this thing installed and cross fingers!!!

See ya all!

:D        :D

Alot of people have been complaining about modchipstore. Great post and I hope others don't get caught up with this store.

I cancelled my order with them this morning after I checked my order at it still said it was scheduled to ship on the 7th. I wouldn't be suprised if they still end up sending me one and try to charge me for it.
