Which MicroSD to get?

Never used a card before and complete noob.  Read many things and decided to go with a SuperCard lite and a SuperKey combo so I can play ds as well as some older nes/snes/gba titles.  The question I have however is which MicroSD card has the best performance and where to get it without having to pay retail store prices (Best Buy is $56 for a 1GB Sandisk UltraII)

I have seen the Kingston Taiwan version is crap but the only place I have seen "guarenteed" Japan models are Ebay, so not sure if it is reliable or not (your thoughts?)  Some other brands have mixed reviews in the limited post I can find.  Are Toshiba, Sandisk UltraII, Transcend, or PNY high speed and able to play games like Castlevania POR with no lag or crashing?  My main concern is to have a card that is going to be able to run everything out now and any future high speed games.  Only ever want to have to buy one card then swap things in and out.

Please post any good links, reviews, videos, proof as well THANKS!!

(oh yeah, I am in the USA so cards not available here or with UBER international shipping fees I'd like to avoid....thanks again)

Well I know of a good site that I've personally purchased from. They have a Kingston 1GB MicroSD for only $14 + free shipping and handling. This company is based in Hong Kong, but I noticed you said you didn't want to deal with the overseas-crazy-million dollar shipping, so this should be right up your alley.

Kingston 1GB MicroSD

* It says - "Assembled in Japan ("ASSY IN JAPAN" on package)",
so I'm assuming that it should be a Japanese card.

I hope this helps you out.

Thanks alot this really helps.

Anyone know a resource to check the credibility of the $14 card store?  I just see Hong Kong and kinda cringe....Had some bad luck with Hong Kong back in the early Ebay days.   I want to be sure before I try to buy something from them.

Note that dealextreme uses PayPal so that should free up a little bit of nerves. I actually just bought my wife a R4 & that 1GB Kingston from them last night, of course I won't be able to confirm 100% that it is truly Japan MicroSD until close to the end of the month :( .

I will understand completely if this won't help change your mind, but I'll link it just for the hell of it.

hm... yetanotherplace meritline

it says the model number is SDC/1GB ... dont know if this is for a Japanese Kingston

the japanese kingston i have is 512, and at the last line it reads "SD-C512 JAPAN" since it is a 512 megabyte.... so i would assume that it is 1 gig?... $12 is pretty cheap...
