Quote from: "kkan"I bought OPERA for DS £20 in the uk (first one i got was pre owned £17 ..bad idea I found out after getting it home it was PASSWORD protected!!!!!

The Nintendo DS browser saves bookmarks and passwords etc. in EEPROM located on the slot1 card. Opera saves this information the same way games save progress and high scores etc.  Rein can be used to erase the EEPROM and then Opera will behaved like it is factory new.

An unrelated issue with Age of Empires: The Age of Kings can make the game completely unusable. The bug is related to a problem with using three or less characters for your name, like "DAD" for example.  If the game is saved using a name with three or less characters then Age of Empires is essentially bricked. Rein can be used to fix this problem as well by erasing the game EEPROM.

OH well its a tad late for that now:(

.... but will remember that for future reference  :)

thanks for the info bitblt  :)

bit of a bad business practice on nintendos behalf though ...not allowing password override for at least for a RESET of the entire software to factory issue  :(

rumour is that you CAN do that with the japanese version but not european version it sucks living in the uk sometimes with silly laws lol :)

If it's the UK's laws it's hardly nintendo's fault. And again, it's hard to blame nintendo when the Opera browser wasn't made by them.
