i did it properly, but now everytime i try to put emus on it it says game could not start ant then a laod of numbers, can anyone help??

the emus need to be in 1.50 format. Seriously mate. Upgrade to 3.10oea, dark alex's firmware. It's by far the best.

3.03oe allows for more menu customization.

1.5 does still have some advantages.  for one, it supports UMD movie emulation with devhook.  

3.03oe does not AFAIK. (neither does 3.10oea AFAIK)

Hopefully we'll see 3.30oe which will give full 480x272 movie support. Tired of having to play lower res videos resized to fit the entire screen.

Some more benefits to 3.10 though is better PSX emulation support. Not just through the default popstation, but because there is a plugin that allows you to have all versions of popstation since some versions break support with some games.

Understand that we mean the OE versions. Don't use a Sony upgrade, ever ever. And if you decide you don't like OE it lets you downgrade back to 1.5 with ease. So try it. You'll like it. As far as the homebrew not working it might be because you have homebrew for 1.0 or an OE firmware. Those usually don't work on 1.5. Most developers release multiple versions, though, so just make sure you get the one for 1.5. Also, if you're trying to use Devhook to run an ISO make sure there is a game disc(any game) in the drive.

yeah.. i'm excited about the full res movie support.

3.30 even lets you play 720x480 without re-encoding (of course the native resolution is still 480x272)...

Yeah, I'm still at 3.03 OE-C myself. I wish 3.10 OE was as customizable as 3.03 OE. But there's not that much of a difference between the two.

But yeah, go with Custom Firmware. Devhook is a thing of the past.
