Super paper mario NTSC on a PAL Wii! GUIDE!  

UPDATE your Firmware or you BREAK your wii by running this game !!!!!
Current Firmware : 2.2E (PAL)

Because if you have a old firmware super paper mario is trying to update your firmware,
but with the ntsc firmware!.. and that is like not working with your pal wii..... it makes your pal wii crazy and wont work anymore..!!

If you have the lastest version of your firmware,
then you can insert paper mario in your wii
and use the upgrade the game provided!

your wii will restart and will go back to the menu of your wii

Then you can play the paper mario...
For me the best game soo far

Edit : i am using modchip WIIKEY Setup Disc Version 1.2 on a Pal Wii!

i am sure this is Working and being Confirmed Alot of Times.

Yeah I've heard about bricked PAL Wii's overon BCG.
Good thing mine is an NTSC. Great game BTW!

yeah i know 2 guys and there wii broke because they had no internet on there wii's

cause of old firmware and no online function..  :|

But im real scared about bricking my Wii.

I've noticed that Vlaflip has to be from Holland or Belgium, and it seems he should have the same Wii as me, cause i'm in Holland as well.

Please confirm to me that the update i just did through internet is working with Paper Mario.

I've heard for you pal people out there (my friend in the UK also did it) that if you update first online (to at least 2.1E, not sure if there's 2.2E out now) then plug in spm it will attemp to patch but not then it will load normally.

Great game btw. I wonder if there's anyway to reflash a bricked wii.

you yust need a internet connection and last firmware thats 2.1E on my pal wii..

BE SURE YOU HAVE A WORKING INTERNET CONNECTION FOR THE WII :lol:
AND FIRMWARE 2.1E or LATER!

wow, that means its very easy for nintendo to block region switches - check for firmware regioning as well as version

I can say 2.2E is working fine with super paper mario..!! no problems @ all!

it works flawless. I rock 2.2e / Wiikey and it works perfect.
By the way , this is not a piracy/import precaution. It's just a wrong update for the wrong piece or hardware.
I guess we could compare it to the problem on the DS we had with Mario Kart and the bricking of peoples DS.

Then again i hope there will be a similar re-flash option/exploit in the future for the people that suffered damage from the update.

So the lesson to be learned here is: always update your wii through internet,before playing imports/games that do not match your region!!

Yes, but only if you have the newest firmware
(I'm sure of it, but don't blame me if you brick your Wii)
