I recommend people buying the Express Card for US$ 39

I'm always a little iffy about purchasing from overseas, but this site is suppose to be really good. I know sneef got his Express Card from here.

I went on a fact finding mission.... searched the net and found winsunx yesterday, but the shipping is $27 to the uk so i think i'll stick with r4's from dealextreme or bamboogaming for now.. cant justify that shipping cost.  r4 +  memstick  is only $45,, i have found the express card at supercardstore as well in uk so fast del, but £45 approx $90 its just not a viable solution to me

Wow, I didn't know shipping was that much. It's probably somewhere around that for US shipping too.

And yeah, since you're in the UK, DealExtreme is suppose to be a pretty good site to order from. Most people that I talked, that were in the UK and ordered from them, received their order in around ten days. People in the US have waited up to a month to get their orders.

Have fun with your R4 though. I'm finally really starting to like mine.

The more flash carts I'm seeing, the more I realize, what is the point of all of them?  They all run games relatively well...  I just don't see the point of having like 5 or 6 carts anymore.

Yeah, I know it. I figured that out after my third flash cart. I realized that the games are still the same, and they don't play any differently. Just about all flash carts are basically the same. But yet, I feel that need to want them all.

I thought the firmware 1.23 of Express Card was good, but it's not. Everyday I had message error "There is not enough space" when there was 200Mb free. Another message was "DSSystem folder not available". Sometimes, the express card didn't start up. I formated, it worked on the beggining, but after 1 day, it crashed again. So, I had no choice, and installed the DS Linker 1.23O firmware, cause I read there was FAT format improvements. And man ! It's working very well ! I tested playing the same games, mp3 and videos and now I'm very proud of this firmware. I don't know who made it (n-card, dslinker, firelink, neomk), but it's a very stable firmware. I recommend people buying the Express Card for US$ 39 (cheaper than DSLinker) and install DSLinker firmware. Thanks for the support guys !

WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME THE EXPRESSCARD IS PINK!!!  I now have launch DS One (black)  R4ds (black) and a friggin pink express card 16gb and 3x 1GB jap micro sd cards.   Whats the best firmware to put on it and where from?  Also have for neice ninjapass x9 tf and hints/advice on software/firmware etc  also SKINS for both expresscard and x9

They should've mentioned on the page that you  ordered the Express card from, that it's pink. RHS put that on the 16G DS-Linkers page. I didn't care though, I still got one. I don't really care on how it looks, as long it performs beautifully. Which every game does on it.

As for the firmware, I would either throw on the DS-Linker, UFPEX, or MK5 firmware.

Lol, luckily I never got a 16gb cart or else I'd be pretty angry with the pink.  Unless I had a pink DS Lite.

The only reviews that mention that the 2GB version is pink are here: Express Card & DSLinker. Its the same for all of the N-Card clones. I don't think they'll change the interchangeable firmware option as its good for business, well the slower to develop manufacturers anyway. They all have the same save issue which deletes saves at random.

How ? I didn't have this problem. I always make a save-backup after playing game (you can store 6 saves for each game)... What card do you have ? And DSLinker 16Gb is WHITE (my friend has it)...

The DSLinker 16G only comes in pink, this goes for the rest of the N-Card clones also. I can point you to tons of forum posts on this issue and many more images. I can also point you towards many topics about how the N-Card clones just randomly delete saves out of the blue. The 6 save game system is flawed and many times most of your saves will be overwritten with the last game played. I'm not saying that the N-Card clones are bad, since I think they are one of the best slot 1 devices on the market next to the R4/M3 DS. They certainly are the easiest to use.

I don't agree with this save issue, cause it didn't happen with my XP card... But if the others are having this issue, I can think they don't know how the save system works, or I'm lucky. Yeah, I threw the 1.230 fw(the DS-Linker firmware) on my DS-Linker, like the second day it was out. And I just checked my saves last night, and every single one is still there.

I havent lost not even one.

metalcaipira I never said your friend didn't have a white one but up until now they have always been pink. Each N-Card clone manufacturer only had pink. Look at every review, pic, etc of the 16g model and they are all pink. And hopebuy is directly related to Romman which is the SuperCard creator and DSLinker distributor/supplier. Even the newest devices are still pink except for at your hope but they will probably released soon in white in other stores.

I sold 12 DSLinkers (white color) and 4 XP Cards (pink) , and none of my customers complained about anything. I always send a tutorial with the products, and think it helps to operate correctly these amazing flashcards. No reports of save problems until now. And I will continue using/selling them, in white color, as always.
