These DS-LINKER and EXPRESS CARD are all clones, but I was testing some system files and I can affirm that DS-LINKER has extra features like DSmouse, DS Pad, DS Browser, DS Organizer, Multisave. I got EXPRESS CARD 16Gb and like it more than DS-LINKER, because the Moonshell works well, but DS-Linker has some troubles running the Moonshell 1.6. Also the price of Express Card is 20 bucks cheaper than the DS-Linker.

I used my DS Linker with moonshell 1.6, the MK5 GIGA build and it worked great, I don't see the problem...

I'm sure you can go throw the DSPad and Mouse file on the Express card, or any of the other clones, and it will work. Just like how the UFPEX's Passcard3 download worked on the DS-Linker. They're all the same firmware.

And if you want the multisave feature on the Express Card, just the DS-Linker firmware on it.

I won't apply the DS-Linker firmware on Express Card, because the products are the same, but the chip inside maybe not. And in this case I can lose my Express Card if these chips are different. All I know is that DS-Linker 8GB uses a Samsung chip, but I don't know about the Express Card. But I'm really ok with the non-multisave firmware, because I can create a directory for each game. In DS-Linker multi-save, you can set only one Save directory, and for me it's a really mess, cause many ROM files has code names, like psy-nsmb.nds.

all of the slot 1 cards with internal 8Gb and 16Gb are a copy of the N-card, such as the express card, ds linker, firecard, etc.

i have Express card 16gb, and I have installed dslinker, ultraflashpass EX, and the neoflash firmware on it.

They all work fine, and there is no problem.

using ultraflashpass EX firmware now because their flasher came with the tools I needed for skinning.

PharaohsVizier

I used the Mk5 and the UFPEX firmware on the DS Linker, no problem...

Actually, the DS-Linker has the flashing file that you need for skinning too. It took me a while to find it.

But now, with 1.230 firmware, you don't have to flash the firmware to put a new skin on. You just drop the images in the folder. Which is a really nice new feature.

OK Guys ! Thanks for the explanation. If DS-Linker team releases a new firmware with good features , I'll apply it on my Express Card. At the moment, I don't think it's interesting doing it.

sneef

oh, i didnt even know there was an updated firmware!  thanks h8uthemost..

No problem.

And yeah, I'm still waiting for Soft Reset to be implemented into these clones' firmwares. That and AR would be pretty nice.

You guys think these carts will ever get at least Soft Reset?

I thought the firmware 1.23 of Express Card was good, but it's not. Everyday I had message error "There is not enough space" when there was 200Mb free. Another message was "DSSystem folder not available". Sometimes, the express card didn't start up. I formated, it worked on the beggining, but after 1 day, it crashed again. So, I had no choice, and installed the DS Linker 1.23O firmware, cause I read there was FAT format improvements. And man ! It's working very well ! I tested playing the same games, mp3 and videos and now I'm very proud of this firmware. I don't know who made it (n-card, dslinker, firelink, neomk), but it's a very stable firmware. I recommend people buying the Express Card for US$ 39 (cheaper than DSLinker) and install DSLinker firmware. Thanks for the support guys !

Yeah, I haven't had a problem with any of the DS-Linker firmwares. But...someone on here mentioned that the MK5 firmware is the best. So, that's something to try out possibly.

I haven't personally thrown it on my DS-Linker yet, just because there's nothing different, features wise, between the two firmwares.

I'm always a little iffy about purchasing from overseas, but this site is suppose to be really good. I know sneef got his Express Card from here.
