Cool beans! I had been readin this thread for a while but never did it but I did today and it works great I just used Win2DS.exe to open a port (8888) and thats what I had savsender run through then I tested the sav file on my sc ds-1 and its perfect I plan on using this for a long time :)

Reygok

I'm sorry but I don't get it. I have a SC DS1 and i only have the scshell folder, the MSFORSC.nds and the DATA folder. When i start the SC, it doesn't tell me to press A, nothing happens, in fact.

Can anyone help me? I'm sure I followed all the steps.

Edit: I noticed that I didn't follow step 2 of the Beginning Steps. I don't know how to "patch savsender.nds with the correct DLDI patch for your device" I downloaded the drivers for the Supercard DLDI thing, but I don't get how to use it.

Edit2: Now I have patched the savsender.nds, but I stuck on step3: I don't get that!
How can I get a save when my official Cartridge is not even in my DS? I cannot put my SCDS2 together with my Pokémon Diamond Version in the DS!
Can you help me?

LAST EDIT!!!

Please forget everything I sayd, I found another solution, wich is, I think, much easier. Here ist the link:

I guess when it tells you to do that, you remove your sc ds one cart and put in your pokemon diamond one

Solarpolitiks

Yeah your supposed to remove the DS One and put in your game (The app will still run) The one from monroeworld is good too

I dont understand the 7th step.
I dont know how to get my IP and I have no idea about this port concept.

Can someone help me with that?

I have a Belkin router.... Im not really familiar with portforwarding.

I tried rudolphs guide and when I do run the NDS file I get an error about a bad adapter, or no adapter at all. So that seems to be out of the option. And I dont know any other backup sav thingys.

I need help please!

guys.. please help me, i dont know what more i can do.

look, im trying to put my save from acekard 2i to my original card game (pokemon platinum)

well, i make all steps and apparently works, but when i start the game on the original card, donts works.. i cant get the save file..

i will explain what i do.. look please...

start de savsenver.. so, shows me :

welcome to savsender 1.1
connected to ap
opening config file
server is at 192.168.0.100:5000
press a to dump,blablabla

in this time, i swap my flash card to my original game card and press B

(in the cmd prompt i do the command nc.exe -l -p 5000 < savegame.sav)

so shows now to me:

detected eeprom of type 0, size 8192
resolving host...
resolved to 192.168.0.100
connectiong to server
reading data from server
.........done!
press a.. blablabla

in this time i think "wow, works!", so, i reset the dsi, but when i start the game, no save games..... :( i dont know what i can do... anyone have make this process from pokemon platinum and works ? i was thinking... the save game dont need to be the same of the game name in the original game card ? like in flash cards that u only can read the save file, if the save its the same name as the rom name.

well, i tried to convert to various format.. 8kb, 256, 512... dont work..

people pls help me..

I don't think SavSender works with the Pokemon games (doesn't support save files larger than 256 KB I believe), but the more pressing issue is that neither SavSender nor Rudolph's DS Backup Tool work on the DSi.  If you don't have a DS Phat or Lite on-hand, I'm afraid you're out of luck for now.

Well... I feel kinda stupid asking this, but does anyone have the "savsender-1.1b.nds" file they can upload?  I apparently never backed it up before my hard drive crashed, and the original homepage is down (archive.org has the page saved but not the binary file).  I'd like to provide a mirror link if possible, but I'll need the .nds file to do this.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

EDIT:  to clarify, I can get version 1.1 from DCEmu fine.  However, he made two additional releases after that which should help the program run on more DS systems (compiled with newer versions of the DS wifi library).  It's 1.1b I'm after.

dantheman

Found a mirror download link thanks to a helpful user on GBATemp, so I've included it as an attachment to the first post.  I also renamed the title to include the word "SavSender" and briefly mentioned Rudolph's NDS Backup Tool which should probably be used instead of SavSender for most purposes.

billypoke

why do you not suggest using savsend on pokemon files?

dantheman

The Pokemon games were the first ones to use 512 KB save files.  SavSender was made before these games came out, and because of that it's only programmed to work with the first 256 KB of the save file.  Thus, using it on the Pokemon games might be a bit risky.

Well this is a very old topic but I would appreciate it if anyone is still around to help out.

The savsender and nc.exe work fine for sending save files on the PC, but I am not getting the 512k .SAV files needed for the flashcart and I can not find any information on how to convert this .SAV file (tested it with meteos and it gave me a 8k file) to the 512k one. However I don't mind about this, it is restoring the save that I am DYING to make it work. I tried converting a 512k order of ecclesia file from here

http://www.shunyweb.info/

with the original file being a .0 512k ecclesia save file to a RAW .SAV forced to 8k. I tried to restore this and while savsender showed no errors, the save file was not restored and the game took me to the language select screen (having played the original cart for a bit too) so I am guessing the save was corrupted from the converter.

Now, savsender and savreciever work great for backing up the save but savreciever does not have an option to restore the save, a feature that would be great to be implemented.

Now I tried some slot-2 restore methods (I got a supercard mini SD) which didn't work ( apparently I am doing something wrong) and I heard there is an FTP solution as well. Can someone please tell me more about those save file conversion issues and if anyone managed to successfully restore a 512k .0 or .SAV found on M3 flashcards, can he/she explain how he/she did it? I am also especially interested in restoring 512k saves like Zelda Phantom Hourglass, if anyone managed to achieve this as well.

thanks for your time
