How do you boot to GBA mode in V8 ? just hold start ?

I have the opposite need of everyone here ! I need Slot2 by default then slot 1 when I choose - my daughter has tons of games on a Slot 2 SC CF, I use the DSOne so guess I'll stay with 7 for now !

DOH RTFM !

Ok I see I can upgrade and by the look of it it's worth it to have recovery available from slot 1 or slot2 !

I guess with all the slot1 solutions now most people don't use flashme any more - but I do like the idea of recovery incase of bricking, do any of the slot one cards prevent the bricker from running ?

Dudu.exe

i guess all cards can boot GBA games from NDS Menu!

I guess your right, but I'm lazy and holding start in v7 saves me time :-)

The only way I found to choose exactly what to boot in v8a without ejecting anything was to use the regular FlashMe file that defaults to slot-2, then holding Select upon bootup to access the firmware, where I can boot slot-1.  This only works when the DS is set to boot the firmware by default though.  Start still automatically enters GBA mode though, which is nice.

It seems the fade in light feature was removed in this version. I kind of liked the fade in, why was it removed?

I tried Loopy's new version of noflashme last night and it works fine with DS Lite.  The audible tone helps when trying to short SL1. The sound might be a little disconcerting to n00bs because it sounds like a bomb counting down and my instinct was to rush the procedure.

Works fine for me on my DS Phat.  I think he removed it from DS Lites though since it wasn't working correctly or something.  Not too sure really.  Check the GBAdev thread in "DS Flash Equipment" as that's where they were discussing it.

just flashed mine, the audio cues were great, took less than a minute to get it all done

although i still can't seem to be able to boot to the ds firmware menu! when do i start holding select?

i used the no autoboot mode, as it was best for my needs, i use slot 1 almost exclusively now

Your DS must be in the setting where it loads the firmware menu by default rather than autobooting a specific slot.  Now that I think about it though, this may only work on slot-2 cards.  I'm not too sure.
