My NDS Lite power switch broke, will nintendo or bestbuy replace my ds?

Alright so today seemed to be the worst day ever. i basically opened my ds to try changing the shell. As soon as i opened the bottom cover (the one with the serial number on it) i looked inside and saw my power switch broke.

Just to give you a visual picture. the sliding thing on the side of the ds actually flicks this lightbulb switch-like device that turns on your ds. Now its broken so it cant turn on.

I still have a nintendo warranty and also a bestbuy product replacement plan. Since i only opened up my back case and THATS IT, will nintendo or bestbuy know what i did?

Since you opened it youre not under Nintendo's warranty. I bet bestbuy would take it back, theyre pretty retarded

nah, they wouldn't know unless it was really obvious (for instance, if screws are missing or scratched).

unlike the psp, there isn't a "void if damaged" sticker on it. well, i've seen them but they're not standard.

take it back to best buy. just tell them it doesnt turn on. they will give u a new one.
I'm on my 6th DS lite using the best buy replacement plan. it's a wonderful plan...

remember. dont give them any more information other than It doesnt turn on.. i don't know why. it just suddenly stopped working.

but just to confirm, i should go backto bestbuy and use their replacement plan to get a NEW DS LITE? or use the plan so they ship it off to nintendo and get it fixed?

i kinda scratched the screw up by the ds slot-1 but other than that, i dont think theres any other sign that my ds was opened.

I recently dropped my DS lite on holiday, preventing the R4 to stay in. It kept jumping out. I went to Toys R us, told them what was wrong, like it just stopped working for no reason. He tried it with one of their games, saw it didn't work, gave me a new one for free.
